Marrero is up to .317. Looking back, he has respectable power...around 15 HR's per minor league season. I saw him twice with the Nats at the end of 2011 and his fielding made me want Morse to move back from LF. Has that improved?

Pretty sure he got injured tonight.

Left in the first inning of the second game of the double header after fielding a ground ball.

Chris Marrero took a groundball off of his knee yesterday which necessitated him being lifted in that one and the extra rest today.

Does LaRoche ever take a ground-ball off the knee? I saw Marrero a couple times in September, '11, and kept thinking that Morse was a better fielding 1B.

Marrero having a great start to the season in AAA.

.352/.405/.676 with 3 Doubles, 1 Triple, 6 HRs, 20 RBIs, 6 BBs, 8 Ks in 71 ABs. Still only 24 years old. Finally breaking out?

I seem to recall he was playing pretty well before his broken leg.    First base is getting crowded in our system.

Ironically, the only one who currently sucks is the mlb starter

People were penciling in Skole as the guy who could make this team, but his injury reopened the door for Marrero.

Good. Call him up, send TMoore down. Give Marrero a couple games in LF and let Bryce heal up.

Marrero has bombed everywhere defensively except first, where I guess he's just bad.  That's why he's a first baseman.

Neither Moore nor Marrero should be playing the outfield.  Definitely not Marrero who looks less mobile than Moore.

Past caring about his defense. Great defense doesn't get us more than one run a game.

Bad defense can cost us a run a game.

We're quite near the bottom in fielding. I'm past caring.

Actually, you just like to complain - without knowing what you're complaining about

Don't want to see him.  We know what he is.  Doesn't have the pop to play first or the outfield.  Let Moore play everyday.

His .587 slugging and additional 15lbs or so suggest otherwise. He can't possibly be worse that Moore is right now.

Sure he can. He could go completely hit less.

Things can always be worse.

Marrero has never played OF jackass

Marrero has played 127 games in his career in the OF.

The first two years of his career were all OF. He was moved to 1B because the results weren't that good.
