If Snyder had any sense or balls, he'd have fired Shanahan on the spot two weeks ago for saying the season was done and time for evaluations for seasons to come. Just one game later and they're back in it. Do they have a shot in hell? Hell no. But mathematically they're in the thick of the race still.
Shanahan is an albatross, perennial loser, clueless, shelters his son who sucks... To make the comments he made two weeks ago, when his entire team turned on him saying the season ain't done and they'll keep fighting? Even though they don't stand a chance, if they didn't suck so much there would be nothing stopping a wild card bid. And 70% of that suckage lies at Shannie's feet. Whether his idiot son, his own horrid coaching, having his players turn on him in the press over his comments and lose respect in the eyes of the team? Hell, one of their major suckage areas was penalties, which has to lie with the coach when it's that widespread and that absurd. 100 yards in penalties in the game two weeks ago? Jesus.
Yet another reason why I don't watch a second of the games and couldn't have even told you their record three weeks ago. Snyder has destroyed a once proud franchise, and Shanahan is the icing on the cake. Damn, forgetting RG3, when was the last time the team even had a QB last for more than a couple seasons? I'm guessing way before Mark Rypien. Thiesman? Such a shame considering how huge a fan I was growing up that now I not only don't watch the games by couldn't name a single player other than RG3. Cooley came back, I believe I read. And if Santana Moss is still here, then that'd be the extent of my knowledge. And if Moss isn't, another example of how little I care about this tragedy of a franchise.
It's easy to say a hell of a rant for a team you don't give a crap about, but it infuriates me that I'd love to root for the Redskins once more.
With the Wizards 0-8 two years running, the Caps playoff failures and current nonexistence (If they do play this year, good luck getting the fans back after a second strike in a decade.), it seems amazing the Nats aren't only the cities darlings for the time being, but the Lerner's have become the best owners of the four major sports for DC.
