Actually I think our standard Dell latptops come with a 160GB HD. Anyways back to the thread I'm getting drunk off my ass tonight then going for a 20 mile ride in the morning.

Anyways, anyone looking for a good bike I saw gearscan has a 58cm Salsa Casseroll for $719 :az:

We're clowning on somebody that said they had some ridiculous amount of ram.

Holy hell that's a hell of a deal.  Too bad it's too big for me.

Watching the Paris-Roubaix (aka The Hell of the North) and holy hell is Tom Boonen kicking total ass.  Currently 90 seconds ahead of the pack.

Boonen is just amazing this spring.  Taking off from so far out, and holding on. Respect.

Big time.  Watching him take the cobblestones head-on was really impressive.  Dude's arms were giggling like he was jack hammering concrete.  That he did it without gloves were insane.

My hands would be so numb I couldn't hold the bike without gloves.

Man, I have to start watching more bike races.  I haven't watched one in over a decade (back when Needledick Lance was big) but I think I'm going to have to make that a thing of the past.  Just totally a bad ass ride.

It makes sense why they do it, but man would that suck ass afterward.

For me, the Spring Classics are by far my favorites.  I like the tours, but Flanders and Paris-Roubaix are just so awesome.

A year or two ago a couple of early TDF stages were in Flanders...even in June it was cold and wet, with a strong wind coming off the north sea.

What really surprised me is how well their bikes held up on that terrain.  Only one guy looked like he might have had a serious issue (blown rear wheel) but it turned out to be nothing.  Can't wait to watch the TdF this year - bring on the cheaters.

By the way, is anyone (:poke: AtBC) interested in riding up to a game in Camden Yards this season?  I'm thinking about getting up early on a Saturday and taking the Metro to Greenbelt and biking from there.  It's about 35 miles from the Greenbelt station to OPACY so I'd be staying the night after the game, but it'd be a really good warm-up for my century ride in September.

Anybody interested?

Going to a game?  Sure?  By bike?  Not so much!

It's not that far, really.  From the Greenbelt Metro station to the stadium would probably only take three hours.

You're talking to someone who only spends about 10 min 2X a week on my DAD'S old exercycle.

What the hell kind of lock does one need at OPACY?!  Maybe an anchor chain from the USS Missouri.

Nice avi, btw.  Add in Thor Hushovd and the Manx Missile and you've got the best one-day riders in a generation.

I was planning on leaving mine in my hotel room.

A mere tugboat chain should do then.  Even the Baltimore Grand Hyatt has bulletproof glass at the front desk.

I was planning on leaving mine in my hotel room.

I watched it and the replay tonight.  The replay picked up the race earlier, with the crash / slash chase down of the first breakaway, then the small move by Flecha and Ballan, then Chavenel, Terpstra, and another rider from Omega-Pharma-Quickstep along with Boonen chasing them down prior to the Terpstra-Boonen move.

I still say that Sherwin and Liggett are the best commentary combo in sport.

It looked like to me that Sky did not want to chase Boonen initially because they did not want to drag Ballan up to to Boonen.  BMC had gassed itself earlier in the race.

It doesn't get the TV coverage here that the TdF does, but the Giro is in many ways a more interesting race...for one thing, being early in the season, the alpine weather can be really unpredictable (like when American Andy Hampsten won the stage over the Passo Gavia in a full-on blizzard).  And as nice as the French scenery is, Italy is just so damned awesome.  Not sure what the schedule is this year, but OLN/Versus used to run a few hours of condensed coverage each Sunday.  Maybe NBC will do the same this year.

The live segment I watched this morning didn't show the beginning with the crash and breakaway, but it was still really awesome to watch, especially as Boonen pulled away and increased his lead time by over a minute.

Definitely concur on Sherwin and Liggett - up there with Charlie and Dave.

Liggett has been the broadcast voice of cycling for as long as I can remember.

Took a nice break from some of the usual Monday administrivia and did 12 miles on the Mt Vernon Trail at an average of 13mph.  Took a couple of pictures along the way:
