I guess the question comes down to: has Manny shown ANYTHING over the past 2.5 seasons at the helm that has shown you the Nationals would be losing an asset down the line?  For me, he has never done anything strategically that made me take notice, and he has never seemed to be a guy that leads men.

In the end, I feel comfortable we are not firing the next Tony LaRussa or Joe Torre.  At best, we'd be firing a Jim Riggleman type.  He needs to go-

After 49 Games:

1962 Mets: 13 - 36
2009 Nats: 13 - 36

TRADE Acta to the Mets, just like the Washington Senators traded their manager, Gil Hodges.  The Senators had risen from 10th place to 6th under Hodges, who quickly turned the losing Mets into the 1969 Miracle Mets.

Hodges demanded the Nats & Mets play sound baseball. I believe Joan Hodges (his wife) is still alive, maybe we could get her.

Anybody get the sense that Manny gets fired and does a tell-all interview with someone like Peter Gammons?  Something like an interview that tells everyone just what the FO is like here?

I was hoping Bowden would do that. He seemed like the candidate. Maybe he still hopes to get another job somewhere and if he does, he'll bash the nats in public

I figured out what Mann does well (or the only thing I've ever seen him do). On Randy Winn's double in the 9th today, he whistled using his teeth and tongue (I can't do that) to alert the fielders to appeal first base to see if Winn touched it. It failed. Nice try. Way to look awake.  Maybe you should just take George Costanza's advice and look annoyed. That way everyone thinks you are doing something

Acta should be fired for giving Hanrahan the chance to freak it up again. Both of them are responsible for 10 losses this season. Even if the Nats score in the bottom of the 9th NO way are they going to score 4 runs.

13-37 ... hey let's fire our new hitting coach or maybe even our pitching coach.  let's get rid of all the coaches except for Acta.  He's been a great manager in his time in DC.

Nice argument out there Manny at third base after David Wright was gunned down on a beastialic throw.  I'm guessing it went something like this:

Manny: Yo homes, you sure he was safe?
Ump: Nah, I'm just freaking with you guys.
Manny: Cool, just checking.

Seriously WTF? Why even come out of the dugout?

Manny we dont NEED you in the dugout. You can afford to get thrown out. Life will go on without you for 8 innings

Hey, Chief.  Can you look back into the results of this poll and see the date Manny last garnered a "No" vote?   It seems like it has been at least a month that no has been sitting on 17.
