I don't have anything "pinned" in Chrome. I just have it set to "open" the same two pages in tabs every time I start the browser up.

Plus, when you "pin them as apps" in Firefox it shrinks the tab which blows.
It does the same thing in Chrome.  And I know what you're talking about now, and yes you can do the same thing in Firefox, with (I thought) pretty much the same method.  Let me see...

Okay, I was wrong, it's not quite the same, but similar:

1) open the tabs you want
2) tools > options
3) "use current pages"

Or you can just go to tools > options and type in the URLs you want, separated by a | (pipe symbol)

Thank you chief, that is what I was looking for.

As far as the Chrome UI, Firefox's RC4 looks very, very similar.

And I found "FoxTab" to use for the Chrome-like Favorites tab. Works pretty well.

Just trying to see which browser works faster for browsing/twitter/facebook at work every day.

As far as actual page rendering and script processing performance, they are nearly indistinguishable now, but Chrome still has somewhat of an advantage with DNS pre-fetching (at least I don't think Firefox does this, not entirely sure).  It can make a difference, but it doesn't always.

Firefox's UI has definitely gone more chrome-y, but they kept the stuff that - imo - makes FF a lot easier to interface with than Chrome.  They also retained the amazing flexibility and customizability that Chrome has *always* lacked.

Don't get me wrong, I like Chrome, and there are things about it that I hope Firefox eventually implements (full sandboxing, process-per-tab) but it has always been and still remains a nice secondary browser for me.

Zune Pass was godly.

i hope it continues.

15 a month to basically rent the ENTIRE ZUNE MARKETPLACE CATALOG.

wonder how they keep that without the player though.

I could be wrong as I'm not terribly familiar with Zune, but it sounds to me like Windows Phone 7 replaces the standalone Zune player, so nothing about the market or Zune Pass really needs to change all that much.  Really there's no technical reason they couldn't make Zune apps for Android and iOS, but of course they won't (and Apple probably wouldn't let them do the iOS one anyway)

Unlimited Zune Pass playback should still work fine on Windows (is there a Mac version?) and the free monthly downloads that are included are DRM-free MP3 files anyway, right?

nope, at least I don't think so.

Well, my suggestion would have been to write a Visual Basic for Applications (which is part of Office) macro.

2.3 million downloads of IE9 on the first day.  Four of those are mine, 7 & Vista, 32 and 64 bit.

Good spell checker for IE9...which, oddly, isn't included with the browser.

Firefox has had a spell checker for years, but IE could never be bothered with one. :(

~20% market share at a conservative estimate, so 30 million people if you're only counting half of the US population.  And that's just the US.  I know you're just trying to be funny but that was a pretty weak effort :poke:

It seems to be about equal or worse than everything except "Galactic" and "Fish" whatever those are.  Isn't "Fish" a MS demo?

Actually they are both MS demos.  So it wins at the 2 tests that they designed.  Hmm.  That's a little strange, don't you think?

Windows 7’s unaltered momentum has pushed the operating system to a new milestone dwarfing the success of all other platform releases even further.

Microsoft reveals that Windows 7 sales have hit the 350 million mark   :az: at a year and a half since general availability, an impressive accomplishment, by any standards.

Between January and April 2011, over 50 million copies of the OS went to customers worldwide. In the three months preceding them, 60 million licenses were sold, according to statistics from the software giant.

“Customers having a positive and productive experience with Windows 7 is also an important measure,” notes Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc.

“Analyst firms like IDC estimate that more than 90% of businesses are currently in progress with their Windows 7 migrations. And we’ve seen that companies who have deployed Windows 7 save an average of $140 per PC per year – showing a 131% return on investment in just more than 12 months.”

Perhaps the biggest measure of Windows 7’s success in direct relation to license sales, is that over 300 million of copies were purchased ahead of the release of Service Pack 1.

I remember a time when customers, businesses especially, but it was starting to rub off on end users as well, would only start considering upgrades to a new Windows iteration after the release of SP1.

Windows 7 broke the mold, showing that customers care less about upgrades and more about the quality of a product when deciding whether to adopt it or not. And Windows 7 has been rock solid from day one, delivering top performance and reliability.

“We’ve done a lot in the last 18 months that improves upon the experience people have on their PCs with Windows 7,” LeBlanc added.

“We launched Windows Live Wave 4 (which included Windows Live Essentials 2011 and enhancements to Hotmail), released the first service pack for Windows 7, and recently launched Internet Explorer 9.

“And we’re hard at work on further innovation for Windows. At CES this year we announced the next version of Windows will support System on a Chip (SoC) and last week at MIX11 we released the first platform preview to developers for Internet Explorer 10.”
