I'm sure Nyjer could have reached base if he had actually tried to work the count against this kid.

Ok, why is everyone so sure that this guy is eagleskins?

posts exactly like him. same style, same subjects, same biases against anyone from latin america.

he's done this like twice before already and each time it is painfully obvious who he is, despite his trying to conceal it.

And... like I said, they both went to Georgia Southern.

I didn't see that post.

I thought sure I saw him praising some Latin American players, but I may be wrong.

I'm sure Nyjer could be a leadoff hitter if he actually tried to work the count against anyone.  Bench his goofy ass and get it over with.

And only an idiot would look at ERA over things like K/9, K/BB and WHIP (1.33).  Gee is a good pitching prospect who had a very good year at AAA and is having a good MLB debut.
Dillon Gee is not a good prospect. He might be considered a good pitching prospect by Nats standards, but he is nothing special. 4.96 ERA, 4.07 FIP for a 24 year old pitcher who was drafted in the 21st round is nothing special. the guy was not even ranked in the Mets top 10 by Baseball America despite them having a weak system. He shouldn't be dominating the Nats.

Zimmerman... he just walked Ian on four pitches, and you hack on the first pitch, really?

One thing is for sure, this lineup is starting to hit him hard. Zimm barely missed his and Dunn was robbed of an extra-base hit.

Awful approach at the plate tonight for Zimmerman.  This guy has average stuff.

They're also running out of innings...and not give up anymore runs.  :|

Blah, blah, blah.  165 Ks in 161.1 IP.  4 to freaking 1 K/BB.  I don't care what service rates what player at what level.  Gee pitched well in AAA this year.  His only weakness was giving up too many hits but his peripherals all suggest that will come down.

And please, don't use a useless stat like ERA when discussing predictive pitching stats.  FIP is okay.

There a some games where the offense is, seemingly inexplicably, completely out of nowhere, terrible.  What set of circumstances lead to a performance like this?

Detweiler looks awesome.  We are going to put him back in the rotation, right?

Detwiler is looking a lot like Thornton.

Good call, JCA.
