Wow, I drive by that fairly frequently when making Baja Fresh pickups on the way home.  I don't remember that it was an especially low lying area, but guess I am mistaken.

No snow in my area but they are expecting the first freeze in the mountains just west of us tonight.

i was in dallas and austin last week, landing in dallas looked like a scene out an iraq war movie - a big dust cloud over the airport and everything was brown.

Yeah, when my plane was coming in to Dallas on the direct flight from London, I looked out the window and thought, "well, crap. What am I coming home to?"
