Lannan has done nothing to prrove that the FO was not correct in sending him down. He was inconsistent in the show and he is proving that again in "cuse. DJ and Rizzo knew what they had with him and whether he ever pitcheds in a Nats' uni or someone elses Lannan will once again prove that he has topped out talent wise. In CMW you had the possibility of him reaching his previous success and in Detwiler you never saw the consistency other than the last part of 2011. Detwiler is also inconsistent and I think he will never be more than a long reliever. He has a mental thing that does not allow him to overcome an error behind him , a bad call or several bad AB's against him. He is only good for 3-4 innings at most.

His full line for that day included 5 IP, 5 ER including a homer. Overall ERA now 5.27; batters are hitting .303 against him (http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?pos=P&sid=milb&t=p_pbp&pid=458709).

Toronto just lost 3 starters, two may be heading for TJ, the third is out at least a month. Maybe we can make a deal with them.

Another quality start for Lannan tonight.

6.1 IP 9 H 3 ER 2 BB 4 K 1 HR

6 out of his last 7 starts are "quality starts".

"Quality" with quotation marks is right. 11 baserunners and 19 outs? Too close for comfort.

LANNAN IS TO MAJORS AS MAYA IS TO SYRACUSE.

Both excel in the appropriate environment.

Lannan will start for the Nats this season. Detwiler is a good thrower. Lannan is a better pitcher. The team will need him.

Lannan may have to be our #5 down the stretch.

The guy used to be a #1 on a major league team!

That means nothing when you realize it was a major league team the GM admitted to not trying to stock with major league talent.

Some people miss sarcasm.

I think Lannan would be just fine as a #5 starter. You don't expect those guys to be world beaters and Lannan had a couple solid 200+ inning seasons.

When Strassburg stops pitching, everyone moves up a notch: Gio, Zimmermann, Jackson, Detwiler (?) + someone. Lannan could be Mr. Someone, pitch decently in the last few weeks of the season. The 5th starter usually goes to the bullpen during the playoffs, anyway. As long as the Nats win the NL East...
