Ripken world series is cool, they can lead and steal, unlike the LLWS, unless they can?

You can start leading and stealing at age 13. Because of field dimensions, it's not possible for 10-12 year olds to do that.

two certified flame throwers dealing right now, Washington vs Louisiana. kid from Louisiana is firing at 80 mph, the MLB equivalent of 104 mph. could you imagine trying to hit that from that distance? disgusting.

something is fishy though, his voice was real deep during introductions. j/k.

Kennon Fontenot : Nationals 2014 1st rd draft pick. haha.

did you guys know...

"At the age of twelve, Lastings Milledge pitched and played third base and hit third for the Manatee East Little League team that was the national runner-up in the 1997 Little League World Series. He received the win on the mound in the semi-final game of the regional, giving up only one run on a solo home run to Matt Rigney in a win against Mississippi."

One of our picks from this year, Blake Stouffer, is in the baseball hall of fame for his performance in the little league world series.

some kid from Mexico's team struck out every single batter he faced in a 4-inning mercy rule game.

he faced 12 batters, he had 12 strikeouts.

Curacao (1-1) vs Guam (1-1), winner advances to the semis vs Japan. Curacao shouldn't have any problems beating Guam.

i suggest you tune in to get a glimpse of the future Nats phenom, Juremi Profar.

Curacao advances. Profar had a quiet game.

Curacao vs Japan 4pm, that's guaranteed to be a great game.

GO CURACAO!

Hagerstown has to win by something like 10+ runs to advance.

Hagerstown won but they won't go on because they didn't score enough runs.  Some stupid tie breaker rule which said that unless Hagerstown scored something like 10 or more runs within the 5th or 6th inning.  They couldn't do it by a 10 run margin without getting the Mercy rule in effect either.  It had to be in the 6th inning.

At one point the coach for Hagerstown in one inning in which they had 6 runs said something to the effect, 'We can only score 3 runs this inning. If we score more than the game is over because of the mercy rule then we don't move on.  We'll score the rest next inning'

(as if you can control that kind of situation! yeah right! )

A kid in that huddle spoke up.  "Lets have some fun!"  Coach agreed.  Yeah!  Lets have some fun.  Good thought!

Wish more teams thought the way that kid did.

How can Little League have a tie breaker where a team has score 10-15 runs to go on?  That's crazy on any level much less than Little League!

No that's not crazy at all, especially for little league. I don't know the specifics but tie breaker implies that there were two or more teams with identical records. It makes complete sense to not have little kids play an extra game, or more than that depending how many teams end up in a tie (logistics, time and young fragile arms), to decide which of the teams should advance. Playing a round robin in a scenario where 3 teams are tied up could conceivably go on forever. So the number of runs scored in the tournament is a reasonable way to break the tie.

And the reason more teams don't think the way that kid thought is probably because MLB doesn't allow children on the rosters.  :?

I know the first tie breaker is runs allowed.

Maryland would be eliminated under either scenario of runs scored or runs allowed. Louisiana and Washington allowed 9 and 11 runs respectively. Maryland allowed 21 (15 in one game alone against Washington). Washington and Louisiana scored 19 and 18 runs respectively. Maryland only scored 14 runs in the tournament. Maryland actually won a game in which they did not even have a hit! They were no hit by the worst team in their bracket and still won 3-2.  :icon_mrgreen:

Wow in the 80's! I only throw 56 form the mound. But I'm a catcher and when someone tries to steal on me well yeah no need to explain the rest. I'm just a bit wild sometimes.

Curacao eliminated by Japan. the way Japan's hitters crowd the plate is ridiculous.

keep an eye on Juremi Profar, i think we'll be hearing about him in the future in the big leagues.
