You guys must have missed my revelation last night:  Minty Fresh = Josh Bard.  It explains everything

PS - there is to be no period in "vs" in the game thread titles.

I would question the logic of even mentioning the Nationals in the gameday thread titles.  Just the opponent, and game # should be sufficient.  After all, we only do Nationals game threads here anyway, it should be fairly obvious to anyone.

This is baseball, Tom.  How dare you suggest messing with traditions, no matter how ridiculous! :P

To bad we don't have anyone covering the team or they could ask Acta what's going on there :?

I might try to call into the post-game show on Sunday and ask Charlie and Dave about that, and nag about it too.

true, for all we know Nieves could be injured and we could be playing with 1 catcher.

Not feeling good about this one. Detwiler is due for a shaky start.

He is?  He's only had one start up here.

It's not like he's had a bunch of amazing starts and is due for a shaky one, he had one solid start. You aren't "due" for something in your 2nd start.

he's had 4 good starts in a row including AA games. He has shown good flashes but I don't think he is ready to pitch full time up here just yet. Hopefully he can just give us 5-6 innings while allowing 3 runs or so tonight. To expect much more is crazy.

Hopefully the offense steps up and scores off of a mediocre pitcher.

I'm going to go with he's showing consistency rather than expecting bad things to happen.  THis stage is bigger than the Pittsburgh game, so it should be a good look at how he handles a little more of a spotlight.

Uehara is 1-1 at home with a 2.63 ERA. On the road he is 1-2 with a 6.09 ERA.

no excuses tonight, offense.

I missed the game last night (work). How was the chemistry with all the announcers? Awkward?

A pinch low maybe. Will be a strike later in the night.

1-2 pitch wasn't a good one, but I'll take the out.
