Plus I was bald cuz all my hair had fallen out, and it was cold cold cold.
Damn, if you were still bald I would personally made you a warm Nats hat for OD. I'm thinking about lining my current one with fleece to make it warm enough for OD and postseason.

How nice of you!  :D  That would have been perfect for 2008 OD - I could have used a warmer hat that night!!!  Fortunately I now have a full head of hair, and my formerly straight hair even came back curly!

My supervisor already knows that Opening Day is a religious holiday for me and that I WILL be taking it off, no matter what.  I put in my OD leave request the instant the schedule in announced in Fall.   :mg:

Reminiscing - Getting to 2008's OD was a bit rough for me - I'd just had a rather nasty chemotherapy treatment 5 days prior and was feeling miserable.  Plus I was bald cuz all my hair had fallen out, and it was cold cold cold.  But there was no way I was going to miss that first game at Nats Park, so I bundled up my little bald head as best I could and got there.  I was so weak and fatigued that I almost passed out waiting in the long security line to get in - remember POTUS was throwing out the first pitch so with all the high security the lines were terribly long.  But we got in just in time!  Sadly, I was way too nauseated to have a beer or a dog or other ballpark food, so I brought in a little container of plain white rice to eat - the only food I could tolerate.  And still I had a fabulous time.  If I could make it to OD that year and have a good time, then you'd better believe I plan on being at every OD I can.   There's nothing like it.

This is the greatest post in the history of WNFF! Now that's some serious love for the Nats.

Thanks for the props, but I bet everyone on this board would have done exactly the same thing in that situation - it was OD at the new ballpark - you just HAD to be there, no matter what!   :mg:

Nah, many would have wimped out. Give yourself credit for having the drive to attend the game and to overcome your health challenges. Natitude, indeed.

I sent the Nationals an email asking about our home, regular season game times.  This is the response I received this morning:

Thanks for your e-mail. Those game times should go up sometime this week. We are waiting on confirmation from MLB and some of the networks that will be broadcasting the marquee games.

Blame shift, they're the only team in the NL that haven't released the game times but as usual it's not their fault.

General rule of thumb:

Weekdays - normally 19.05
Sundays - normally 13.35
Saturdays - normally 19.05, but there are often afternoon fixtures in early season

The final fixture list is normally varied by a half-dozen or so weekday afternoon first-pitches (I DO LOVE ME SOME WEEKDAY AFTERNOON BASEBALL!) and, now that the Nats are winning, we'll also probably get at least one Sunday night start (20.05) - and of course our home opener, which with the exception of 2005 and 2008 has always come in the afternoon.

OC - of course, if we are the fox game, some of those saturday times will be 4:05 (or 16.05 in OC speak).

OC- by 19:05, you mean EDT and not GMT?  :mg:

True (we'll probably get at least one of those too, for the same reason as the aforementioned Sunday nighter - still not a bad start time, better than prime time).

FYI -- For anyone who is a season ticket holder, it looks like you can back into seeing what the games times are for all games this year online.  Those game times should probably still be taken with a grain of salt until it's officially announced, but I'm guessing it's pretty close to final for them to have listed them at all.

I found them by going into my online ticket account, clicking on the "my tickets" tab, then clicking on the "view by order" button, and then clicking the order number that went with the date I purchased my season tickets. YMMV of course.

Nice find.  With my 20 game plan all my game times are showing up as 7 PM starts, are you seeing any games with afternoon starts?

Saw that just now too when I checked My Nationals Tickets - looked at April and we're getting a number of weekday afternoons that month (sounds good to me!). Of course at least one of the Sundays above will change when ESPN sets up its Sunday Night Baseball schedule for the year.

The Barves get THREE Sunday night games, the AngelO's get one, and even the freaking Mets, but we get shafted.  Surprise...

EDIT:  though the schedule goes through July 21, they don't have anything for Sunday nights listed from June through early July yet.

The Mets and the Orioles aren't the main attraction.  Look at who they are playing.

If they pick up where they left off (regular season wise), they'll get on there plenty down the stretch.  We'll probably pick up some Wednesday night games on ESPN, too.
