The two best Nats against Hudson are not starting:

Pudge 16/38 (.421)
Stairs 5/6 (.833)

Not that it's a bad thing, just funny.

I wonder what their averages would be if you only included this century.

Hmmm...apparently Ray Knight walked off during the postgame show on Sunday, and he's not on the pregame show today.  Interesting...

This is the first part of the Nationals-Braves Stats preview.  Guess what they're expecting?

Quote
Atlanta Braves right-hander Tim Hudson felt like his latest gem was as close as he'll come to throwing a no-hitter.

It seems like every time he takes the ball against the Washington Nationals, however, he's capable of tossing one.

Hudson looks to build on one of the best outings of his career and continue his dominance over the Nationals in Tuesday night's series opener at Turner Field.

In the second game of a doubleheader against Milwaukee on Wednesday, Hudson (4-2, 2.86 ERA) pitched a one-hitter in an 8-0 victory for Atlanta (20-16). He faced two batters above the minimum, as Rickie Weeks led off the fourth inning with a double and drew a two-out walk in the ninth.

"I'm never trying to throw a no-hitter," said Hudson, 2-0 with a 1.52 ERA in his last three starts. "But that was about as close as I feel like I can get."

Facing the Nationals (16-18) could give him another shot at one.

Hudson is 11-2 with a 1.88 ERA in 19 career starts against the Washington franchise, yielding two runs or fewer 16 times and three hits or less in five games. He made his season debut at Nationals Park on April 3, giving up a run and three hits in seven innings of an 11-2 victory.

Plus, Washington is second-to-last in the majors with a .224 batting average.

Gotta love Charlie and Dave!  After Dave read the lineups:

C: "Thank you, Bill."

D: "Who's Bill? Are you seeing other broadcasters?"

After the Freeman error:

C: "And Freddie Freeman is having a worse start than I am!"

OMFG!  :lmao:

Charlie said "Thank you very much, Bill." to Dave.

Dave:  "Who is Bill!?
Charlie:  "Did I say Bill?"
Dave:  "Are you seeing other broadcasters now?"
