Going to the game tonight. However, the rolling thunder 911 tribute will be on 66 around 4pm right around the time i will be leaving for the game. Anyone else aware of this or any ways to avoid what is sure to be traffic hell?

Not to be picky but the thing going on today is not related to the official "Rolling Thunder" thing in May.    The best way to beat it is to come to town around 11 and the bars are open.

The Phillies record for wins is 101, set twice, in 1976 and 1977 (only three-digit-win regular seasons in club history). With that 80-42 record right now they only need to go 22-19 the rest of the way to break their record.

Ok. its whatever. I was under the impression any time the bikes congregated like that it was referred to as rolling thunder....but i wouldnt really have any idea, i was just trying to be descriptive.

I understand that's why I used the disclaimer "not to be picky".

this is an absolute huge start for livan.  he made the phils look pathetic last weekend.  they'll be gunning for him tonight.  hopefully he can mix and match his pitches tonight and keep them offbalanced.

Not to be picky, but why is a 9/11 tribute on 8/19?

I have my own theory as to why folks ride anytime in these events.   I ride a motorcycle and I've begun to lose interest in these events.    Same thing when Palin showed up for a photo-op at Rolling Thunder.     I don't wanna hurt anybody's feelings about intentions.

PS   What the hell is an SABR stat?

Capital Weather Gang's NatCast has 'Even if it doesn't rain much (showers/storms should be moving east), skies likely stay pretty overcast. Dress or gear-up for muggy conditions and a chance you could get wet though. If it rains at the park before or during the game, temperatures fall into the 70s' with 40% chance of precip; Yahoo! Weather has 'scattered thunderstorms' with 50% chance.

Two paths around - one, go in the GW Parkway all the way to the 14th St Bridge (395).  The other, take the Beltway towards the Wilson Bridge and then 295 N to So. Capitol St.  The Beltway between 66 and 295 will be congested but 66 inbound beyond 495 will be stopped completely.

You may want to come down GW Parkway or route 50.

I don't know why I put myself through these games.  Perhaps the same reason I went to Caps/Flyers games when the Caps were bad and we were outnumbered by enemy fans.
