let us say a prayer for our brothers at the game who are now pushed shoulder to shoulder in the walk-ways with philly fans.

turns out I arrived at a good time in the first. Was right next to the old kid zone turned table area as the cloud burst came and was able to snag a dry place immediately to eat.

It's pitch black outside and even more so to the south (the stadium is a few miles to the southeast).

ABC doppler shows a line of storms stretching back to Fairfax, but clear beyond that.

There's been some serious thunder and lightening out here. Flood warning until 9:40pm or something like that.

Last night, even though it was dry in DC, we had storms parked over western Fairfax County all evening. I think that's what's happening here tonight. Its still pouring at the park...I'm not optimistc this game will resume...

Hasn't rained in Loudoun.   Like you though, we had some serious lightning last night and down toward Dulles  ...  i.e. Fairfax CO.   Looks like a lot of rain comin' in from the northwest.

Just checked the radar at weather.com - it's not promising.

Incidentally, I'm watching Hoodwinked with my kids and this movie is really clever.

So, in addition to developing power and plate discipline, Destin is doing something with his eyes that your kids think is clever?

Hey, if you are bored, you can always update a FTP thread or find other parallels between Adrian Gonzalez and Chris Marrero.

weather isn't looking good tonight, more storms than last night.

ref knows weather.  they just cut back to the game, big pools of water in the OF and still raining pretty heavily, good thing this isn't potomac or they would be rained out until September.

The 2011 Nats commercial on the radio with the "Come on, run hard.  Look it all the way in!  Read it read it read it!  Let's go!"  has finally been edited with someone else doing a voice over instead of Riggs.

just looked at the CWG site, probably another 30 minutes or so of heavy rain, some lighter stuff behind it though.

i just saw something about record rainfall amounts in D.C. tonight, flash flood warnings everywhere, and Zuck stole my joke:

@MarkZuckerman: Source: Tonight's rain has postponed all of Class A Potomac's home games at Pfitzner Stadium until 2013. #Nats

I think the field has taken on too much rain to resume play.

Dude put up a sign "citizens park south" right in front of me, on the packed concourse.  It really pissed me off and I got in his face with language I don't approve of.  He had 4 friends and I was solo.  I'm still burning.
