Toledo up 18-0 over Cuse now after 7 innings.

IFer Marcos Yepez's line: 4.1 IP 9 H 6 ER 1 BB 0 K 3 HR. He "took one for the team".

Toledo has 6 HRs, 4 doubles, and 14 singles. Brent Clevlen has hit 3 bombs.

Clippard's motion scares me, but he looks so good right now.

It's appropriate this game had a rain delay.  Good to get Wainwright out of there too.

Are they out of pitchers, or just bored, or what?

And who is Alderson?
They weren't out of pitchers but most of the relievers are probably unavailable. I don't know who is going to replace Balester in their rotation. They have Martis-Detwiler-Estrada-Ramirez.

Alderson was the Giants 1st round (22nd overall) pick in the '07 draft out of HS. He's a big guy (6' 6", 217 lbs).

He's only 20 but he's already pitching in AA. He has a 3.47 ERA this season.

I'd say it's a pretty good chance.

:?

MLB.tv is behind the regular broadcast and they don't show the between innings stuff.  They literally came back to Clippard's first pitch.

I wish the Nats as a team would grow mustaches like Dick Ankiel and Wainwright.

MASN showed like 4 warmup pitches.

Clippard looks like he might not be able to grow one  some of the other players might not be able to either.

LaRussa is too good to pull his pitcher after 3 innings and a long rain delay.

Bases-loaded, four-pitch walk.

Unacceptable.

So, did anyone else catch what I think was a sneaky "Dragnet" reference in there on their way to commercial?  They had a little montage of Dunn's name on the back of his jersey, four clips, one long one, three short.  Dunn, dunndunndunn.

I don't like NJ in the 5th spot at all.

Guzman is freaking everything up. NJ should be batting 2nd.

Totally selfish AB by Dunn there.  Should've lied down like a dog so we could end this game earlier.

what game?

this crap is so lopsided it's not even funny. We may have had a chance if they had pulled their starter but this thing is toast.

our offense is the worst in baseball. the series against the Padres is going to be a farce.
