I'm not the biggest fan of the Maryland uniform collection, but I do like that hoodie that Edsall is wearing.

Yes he is.

And win or lose, this is the kind of game that gives you something to work with for next year.

Stefon Diggs is good at football.

Very much so. Spidey, what kind of NFL future do you think Vellano has? He reminds me of a shoter Carriker. Tons of effort too.

I can't really say. But every time I hear "effort guy" or "high motor" guy as the top quality of a player I laugh and prefer to stray from them. I will say thought that "high motor" players always get a look in the NFL and end up being at least backups.

LOVE vellano.  He hasn't played healthy since maybe week 3 ... just continues to grind.  He's one of those Terps that gets some buzz at the combine, he'll impress scouts and then he'll deliver in the NFL.  Looking forward to seeing him at the next level.

Stefon Diggs should be QB, Coach, anything he wants to be.

I know how the effort thing goes, but he does seem to have good instincts plus a athletic bloodline which gets you notice as well. He's pretty strong as well as "quietly quick" if you get what I"m saying.

He's one of those motor guys but he also produces like an All-American. He's a tweener guy because of his size but he'll make it somewhere.

That usually means they don't have a whole lot of skill. I think ronnynat once described Mike Golic's sons at ND as "effort guys".   When they talk about JJ Watt though "high motor" is not the first thing they mention.

What are his measurables? Looking like an All American at MD is not really impressive though. High SAT's though so he'll get a look from a coach that likes smart/character/effort guys. If only Joe Gibbs was still coaching.

Two missed tackles - complete wiffs - and the Tar Heels are back within seven.

Complete wiffs. Especially the first one.

Why the hell would his school matters? He was an All-American last year. That's compared to the rest of the players in the country and has nothing to do with his school. It's actually more impressive that he was an All-American on one of the worst defenses in the nation last season.

And he's 6-2, 285.

Whatever it takes to keep him here for the next two seasons... I seriously doub he comes back for his senior year. I know you guys don't like Edsel and you have your reasons, I don't really agree with you, but I respect your opinion, or at least your right to have one ;) but Edsel and Locksley have done a pretty good job adding talent and getting a kid like Diggs can only help you in the long run in recruiting. How many other kids are gonna follow in his foot steps from Good Counsel?
You can see one kid have a greater immediate impact in bball, but a kid like Diggs can really help down the road even if it isn't in instant gratification. And yes, I know that Locksley is the ace recruiter more than Edsel but it does seem like the parents of recruits really like Edsel, but then again, that could be a mindfact...

Linty's post disappeared but Long has been OK. Nothing to get excited about but OK. Most of the hype over him has to do with who his father is. I never really thought of him as a "high motor" guy though. I thought he had a little more skill than the typical "high motor" player. It may be as hammonds said. The fact that he is white led some people to label him that.

Absolutely. They are huge losses next year, obviously. Mainstays for the last 4 years. Gonna need Farrand to step up as the leader next season.

Vellano? Probably. I saw one projection that had him at a 6th-7th round pick right now. His size will be a problem unless he adds on 10-20 pounds. Not athletic enough to be a 4-3 DE and too small to be a good 4-3 DT, but like hammonds said he's an effort guy so I think he hangs on as a backup.
