Derek Norris got hit by a pitch... in retaliation, he stole 2nd base.

so we have our Morgan replacement?

I meant to post this earlier, but the hoopla of the Nats extra innings consumed me.  While listening to Harper's debut game, another player was able to stand out... Randolph "The Groovin' Aruban" Oduber.  He led off the first inning with a walk, then stole second to position himself for Bryce Harper to drive him in.  Then the next time up, he singled.  While he wasn't credited with them, he should have had two more stolen bases to his name.  He stole third that frame, but the pitcher let the ball slip and it ended up being scored a WP.  And then while on third, he was part of a double steal with Harper that had him end up at home (while Harper drew the out).  Later in LF, he made what was described as a "Willie Mays like" catch by the Suns announcer (probably a little exaggeration there).  I didn't realize this guy had so much speed and am really excited about his potential.  He may be another candidate for leadoff one day along with Eury.

That's great about Oduber.  LF will be tough position to crack at the ML level once Harper is up here with Werth, though.  Any chance he could play CF?

Why the hate? Dude's 24 and could still turn into an awesome reliever.

3 weeks in the minors and he and Oliver Perez will up kicking ass :koolaid:

Hmmm, not sure.  Hopefully Hagerstown will be on milb.tv sometime this year, if not I'll get to check him out when I visit their park.

Just picked up this little nugget off twitter, awesome news:

Oduber can definitely play center field. I don't know about his true defensive ability or arm, but he's got the speed and athleticism to play the spot.

I think he's playing LF because there's no reason to constantly shuffle all your outfielders. With Taylor just learning OF, CF is the 'easiest' to learn because you're straight away and his bat probably profiles there best. Harper is going to get some time there as well. That's two guys who'll be bouncing around quite a bit in center. I think they'll let Oduber play LF and get settled in there. Once Bryce is promoted, hell probably take over as the 'platoon' CF with Taylor.

Definitely interested in Harper in center. If we can get that kind of bat at CF, the lineup is going to be ridiculous.

Anyone know why Lombardozzi isn't batting leadoff for Harrisburg?

He seems to be the best leadoff candidate in the organization.

He's been remarkably consistent in his professional career at getting on base.

He's got a good eye, is patient, and has a professional approach to the game.

He needs as much experience at the leadoff spot as possible because if he has a future here, it's in that role.

Espinosa is playing well but could command quite a bit on the trade market b ecause of his power. If we can fill out the OF like we think(if one of Harper or Werth can man the CF spot) then we can afford to use the 2b spot for leadoff purposes.

Just dont see the reason to not have him in the leadoff spot.

Don't fear, he will bat at both top spots in the lineup throughout the season just like last year.

Potomac + Harrisburg games postponed tonight.

Matt Grace, 10th round pick last year out of UCLA, got the second start for the Suns this season and was very impressive.  6.0 IP, 4 hits, 0 runs, 0 BB, 4 SO, 12 GO/0 FO!  Suns hitless going into the 7th with score tied at nil-nil.

Does Brad Meyers have a shot at being called up this year? He's been nothing but impressive all along.
