Anyone see Red 2 yet? I really enjoyed the first one but the second one hasn't gotten as good a review on Rottentomatoes.

My mom said she was thinking about seeing "that new Helen Mirren movie" and I was like... uh, do you know what that movie is??

anyone seen panic room?  i know it's older flick, but i'm DVRing it right now on Bravo.  i've heard good things.  cmdterps seems to not like much of what he saw, way back when.

The Wolverine was awesome! Much better than I expected. Much better pacing compared to the last one and the action was more choreographed as opposed to CG sequences. I'd rank it as the third best X-men movie behind X2 and X-men First Class.

Wolverine was pretty good. not as "holy crap awesome" as I thought it would be, but it was a good movie.

the last 20 minutes though....got a little ridiculous. and not in a good way.

the after credits scene was great.

I refuse to re-watch the first standalone Wolverine after what they did to Deadpool. That movie drives me up a wall.

Glad to hear this one is better.

JR has such a dramatic story that the movie didn't need creative writing.  The movie showed how much a hero Branch Rickey was as well

Totally agree, a lot of fun. Fillion as Dogberry was flawless, I laughed at almost everything he said. Or even when he wasn't talking. And the eavesdropping slapstick was worth it.
Also, the interrogation scene was pretty hilarious, too.

yeah, from what i read they took a few minor liberties - the walk-off that ended the movie was in reality, a 4th inning HR that made it 1-0, and the beaning that led to the melee actually hit Robinson in the wrist and seemed to be a legitimate brush-back because he liked to crowd the plate.

Still, an amazing story and amazing human being.  And you are right about Rickey who also broke down the Latino barrier by bringing in Clemente.  I wonder if Clemente will ever get his uniform number retired as well.

I was a Bucs fan in the day and always a Clemente' supporter.    However, I wonder why Minnie Minoso was never tagged as the player breaking the Latino barrier.

I happened to have caught In Bruges on one of those premium channels today... wow. What a surprisingly great film. I remembered it being talked about some years back so I never had any real motivation to watch this. I am glad I did though. I like those kind of surprises. It's a Black Comedy film with great dialogue, acting, and cinematography. I recommend watching it. It's directed by the same guy who made Seven Psychopaths (another movie that I like).

2 Guns was...decent. Denzel and Wahlberg were excellent but the plot was a bit convoluted.

Just got back from seeing this flick.   I asked the missus what genre this is and she said  ...  CIA, DEA, FBI, Special Ops, Drug lords, comedy, shoot 'em up, boy flick  ...   Denzel and Wahlberg were a great tandem.    Oh yeah, the plot took a while to figure out.   :)

The book was great. I hope the do a good job explaining the intricacies of the tribal law that forced the villagers to keep Luttrell alive/safe as well as the risks taken by the villagers to not only protect him, but get him back to the Americans. I also don't understand why they cast someone as short as Marky Mark to play a man of Marcus Luttrell's physical stature.
