If Morse can't play we need to DL him (the break is in less than a week!) and call up Marrero.

Yes.

He was ready to play today, so I'm guessing he'll be in the lineup tomorrow.

If he was ready to play, why didn't he pinch-hit? I hope he's ready to play tomorrow but if he needs some rest why don't we just DL him and use the extra break from the ASG?

I'm assuming he wanted avoid using him at all costs, even if he was "ready to play".  Johnson was able to get away with it.  We were still two PH's away from needing him.

Odd, I thought he said it was BETTER than a .500 club.

He did.  I forgot to include that.

So, Davey is not going to do the sit-down post-game news conference like Riggs and Acta used to do?

Love the Davey post-game interviews. There is just a different feeling with him at the helm. Congrats to rizzo who could have taken the easy route and just let McLaren finish the year.

How the hell did we win that game?  We managed to find a way to win without getting a hit.  Now we need to do that 4 times a game and we're set.

RL - no, he said he likes more informal q and a. I believe he used to do the postgames in his office.

Like I said earlier, I don't see Werth in this slump for this entire season

Even if he goes 4-for-4 tomorrow, doesn't excuse sucking for (at least) half a season.

I know some here don't like the Parcells quote, and it's great to want to be better, to hope to be better, and train to be better.

But we are a .500 club.

We won't be "better" than a .500 club until we play better and win more games.

I think I'm a scratch golfer.   But guess what, my scores say otherwise.

You're just in a half season slump

A .500 club, with stras coming back, a solid core of young guys, some top prospects getting close to making an impact, and Rendon isn't anything to be ashamed of given where this club was 2 years ago.

I was told someplace that McLaren didn't want to finish the year wo Riggleman, so if not Davy, someone else would have had to step up.

Why not Werth ?

For all the grief he gets, Werth leads the team with 45 walks (19 ahead of 2nd place Espinosa) and his OBP is a respectable .330.  He's 3rd on the team in total bases, behind Espinosa and Morse.

I read that, too. Personally, I don't care about the HR fireworks. What are the sounds of Washington? Politicians blowing hard? Gun shots? The sub horn might have been the best choice. :)

Didn't local residents complain about the fireworks? I feel like I read that.

I'd go for the gunshots.  Or the Geto Boys.
