Let's see if we can give Chico the win.  He actually threw a pretty decent game.

The Braves pitcher has a 2.16 WHIP, 5.06 ERA.
He is an Open House, available to be owned for very little.
Lopez tripled to left center, Guzman scored.

Nationals 4
Braves 3

Zim pops up.  Really should have scored another run there.  The pen is going to have to be perfect.

We've left too many on today.  This lead should be bigger.

BTW, anybody have an update for Ayala. Didn't he start extended st not too long ago?

Yeah, big challenge for the pen today.

As one who is scared witless at the thought of Chad returning to the closer's spot over Rauch, I for one am praying that he doesn't pitch the 9th in a save situation today.

C'mon Billy Traber....

What about Astacio?  Wasn't he in extended spring training?

Too bad Chico can't get the win.  :icon_frown:

He pitched well enough to get it.

Chico is the pitcher of record so he's in line for the win, if we hang on.

Ayala is a mirage.  A dream.  He doesn't actually exist.  Didn't we used to have a pitcher named Ayala?

Everybody groaned when Astacio was signed by us to a minor league contract.
Don't...just don't.

Taber DOES the job!

That is my idea of a FANTASTIC inning of relief work.  Any reason you don't bring Billy out for the 8th?  He only threw 6 pitches!

I didn't even know he was still on our team. Was he injured or something?

I agree.  Colome against their stud hitters scares me.

The entire Braves position players barely had time to sit down.
WEAR THEM OUT. RALLY!!

That was an extremely efficient relief appearance
