And the no-hitter goes to the ninth, as Orlando Hudson grounds into DP.

Anibal Sanchez stepping onto the rubber in the ninth, needing just three more outs to complete the you-know-what, the 2-3-4 hitters due up.

That final out was close. I thought he was safe. That shortstop is lucky , he almost blew it.

LOL@ the Dbacks. The last week for them has been horrible.

Well, that makes Ramon a very small footnote in history, losing a no-no in the 9th, three days before one was completed.

Congrads to Sanchez and the Fish.  That team, no matter how down and out they seem, no matter what cards they are given, no matter what anyone says, works hard and produces.  Wish some of that would rub off on the current Nats team.

Ramon Ortiz who?

I almost want to play conspiracy theory here and say this was totally rigged and setup.

The MLB goes on a 2 year no-hitter drought and each month that passes it becomes a bigger news story.  Suddenly Ramon Ortiz comes three outs away from doing it and the subject reaches boiling point.  Then Sanchez gets the no-no only meer days after Ortiz's attempt?  Smells fishy too me.

You also got to wonder:  Did the Snakes let it happen on purpose those last two innings?

By the way, Elvis, Bigfoot, and Tupac are holding a concert in Chicago on the 21st to benefit Intergalatic Roswell survivors and their familes.

Whatever the case may be, I'm still ticked, even if I don't deserve to be. :x

I'm not sure why the lack of no-hitters is such a big deal anyway.  I know it used to happen more frequently, but with the huge emphasis on offense these days, especially in the AL, you can't really be surprised that there haven't been any in a while.
