*Fantasy Baseball WNFF H2H 2015*
« Topic Start: March 27, 2015, 06:49:31 PM »

Does anyone want to do this WNFF Head to Head Live Draft Fantasy Baseball league for 2015? Last year we had 14 managers, but 8 had stopped managing their teams by early July. Most resumed running them, after getting a PM. Three teams were taken over by other WNFF members. Two of those met in the championship series.

I'm not really interested in the time it takes to manage a team for a 162-game season, over 22 weeks plus 4 weeks of playoffs for the 4 teams that qualify. If we do it, maybe it should be limited to 12 managers. A lot of members were also in other leagues with cash prizes. Fewer managers means better players available as free agents.

What we've used in the past, with the ability to make daily lineup changes up until the start of any game. (Free agents must be acquired before the first game of the day.):
Position   Starters   Maximum
Catcher (C)   1   No Limit
First Base (1B)   1   No Limit
Second Base (2B)   1   No Limit
Third Base (3B)   1   No Limit
Shortstop (SS)   1   No Limit
Infielder (IF)   1   N/A
Left Field (LF)   0   No Limit
Center Field (CF)   0   No Limit
Right Field (RF)   0   No Limit
Outfield (OF)   4   N/A
Designated Hitter (DH)   0   No Limit
Utility (UTIL)   1   N/A
Pitcher (P)   9   N/A
Starting Pitcher (SP)   0   No Limit
Relief Pitcher (RP)   0   No Limit
Bench (BE)   2   N/A
Disabled List (DL)   3   N/A

* We've used OBP (On Base Percentage) instead of BA (Batting Average.)
* We increased from 3 to 4 outfielders in 2013, and replaced the 2 corner infielders (1B/3B and 2B/SS) with 1 infielder at any position.
* The number allowed on the Disabled List (DL) was increased in 2013 from 2 to 3.
* The acquisitions from the Waiver wire was increased in 2013 from 7 per week to 10 per week, and from 14 in a 2-week playoff to 20.

2014 CHAMPION: JCA-CrystalCity #1 BlindLeadBlind- NathanNeckbeard (130-74-6)

Marquis de Sade sent a PM and wants to participate in 2015.  He's made the playoffs every season, since he joined around 5 years ago.

1. Who wants to manage a team for 22 weeks?
2. What day and time should the Live Snake Draft be held?

Count me in.  Maybe the best day for the draft would be during the Opening Sunday night baseball game.

I don't think we'll hit critical mass.  I'm not really interested in doing this this year because of time commitments in the first half of the season.  I think a lot of teams ended up in zombie mode last year, too.

I was guilty of that and let someone take my team over, I was working an outdoor job and missed the draft - circumstances have changed so if it gets off the ground I am keen

I do it if we get to 10.  That's the bare minimum for a league.  I'd probably do an autodraft and then play with the roster during the year.

Only 4 people have said they want to participate. I really don't want to do it at all. It takes too much time just to manage my own team. I'm out of work and have other priorities right now. I could be a co-manager, to be able to continue the existing ESPN WNFF league.
 :-[
Since I've used ESPN's League Manager (LM) option, I can set up a league with as few as 4 owners and as many as 20. I could set up a 4 or 6-team NL-only H2H league, and add a few positions to our WNFF standard team, to keep it competitive. Example: 12 pitchers instead of 9, add 1 Corner Infielder, 1 Middle Infielder, more outfielders, and maybe even a 2nd catcher.

The only date suggested for a Live Draft was the evening of this Sunday April 5, but that's Easter Sunday. Probably the night of Tuesday April 7th would be better, since the Nationals don't play that day. ESPN would include all of the statistics of games already played in MLB to the WNFF league's first week.

N2P - more important things than Fantasy baseball to take care of.  Good luck.  Maybe what we should do is, if we are in other leagues looking for another owner, keep aussienat  in mind?  Anyone else not in enough leagues already?
