is Garcia a FA after this year?

I assume he has 6 more years of team control, he debuted in the majors the other day.

Yes. He is under Nats control for six more years.

I checked into bleedcubbieblue.com to check out what they were saying.  Most things said were homering for the Cubs, but some posts were just God-awful.  Oh well, sucks to be them.  Fans here have been through it but now the Nats are the best in baseball.

Also, none of our aces are Mark Prior or Kerry Wood so there's that.

This game is a microcosm of why it was so fun to grow up a White Sox fan on the north side of Chicago, it was like a montage of all the stuff I made fun of my friends at school for.

And also a microcosm of why it's pretty fun to live in DC this year.

Their catcher was a little nag out there in that scrum.  Get a little push in and jump back into the safety of his teammates, jawing all the while like he's a tough guy.

As a pale hose fan, I'm glad to see the Cubs falter.

What did they eject Mike Gonzalez for?

He started another pushing/yelling scuffle while going back to the bullpen a second time.

Gotta love Davey. Though I wanted another insult like Weird Wuss I could use in my daily vocabulary.

Edwin acted like someone crossed the line. I wonder if some ugly things were said.

Good for Mike Gonzalez for being the one to take the hit and get the suspension. He knows he's more replaceable than Morse and gives MLB a clear sacrificial lamb.

6th of September and only one more win to match the most wins a Washington baseball team has had since the '30s (skipping the WW2 teams).

Got back from the game about an hour ago and just watched the replays.  What a nice job by Werth and Zim to keep Bryce out of trouble during the second scrum.  I guess there is something to "veteran presence"

I saw the Cubs' catcher go get a new mitt.  Then I saw Bo Porter arguing with someone on the Cubs' bench.  Then the benches/bullpens emptied.  Finally the Cubs pitcher threw at Harper.  Can anyone explain what this hullabaloo was all about?  I hope none of our players were hurt.  The Cubs aren't playing for anything but we sure are.
