No 1 player should ever have 19 more homeruns and 18 more RBIs than 2 starting outfielders who have a combined 391 more at bats than that one player.

I'm sure Ruth, Bonds, Williams, Mantle and others did it plenty of times.

HIDEOUS STRIKE THREE CALL!

Why complain? Jimenez watches two strikes right down the pipe and doesn't even move his bat. The ump did the humane thing and put Jimenez out of his misery.

goodnight all, see some of you tomorrow.

BTW, never doing game ball again (probably). Someone else can pick it up if they want. Patent passed. :)

I think this team has reached a New low point... they have hit rock bottom for the first time since April.   :hang:

Cruyff is/was the MAN!

no idea who that is, actually.

Johann Cruyff was a fantastic Dutch player who, like many other European players in the late 70s-80s came to play here when their skills started to slip. Come to think of it, somewhat like the current Nats.

Sorry, but I think that's crap - if Jimenez is going to get punched out it should be on a strike - not on a ball in the left hand batters box -  I get that it doesn't matter tonight in the grand scheme of things - but an ump has one stinkin job - to be consistent - shuoldn't be too much to ask

Webb's complete game for Arizona scored 37.5 points for Mean Machines, my Head-2-Head opponent in this week's Forum fantasy league.  It just occurred to me that his winning the week might be good for me, since he has a chance to overcome Florida Bombers in the other division, who will be tough to beat in the playoffs.

The Forum Rotisserie league still has 5 teams within 10 points of 1st place.

ronnynat set up a Yahoo Forum Fantasy Football League in Off Topic with a Sunday, Sept 2 6:30 pm live draft.  BE THERE!

Oh, WE LOSE!

I'm pretty sure you will find that Babe Ruth hit more home runs in 1924 than the entire Washington Senators baseball team, the ONLY Washington baseball team that ever won the World Series.  You can win without homers but its also tough to get to the NFL Super Bowl without offense.  We need to be able to hit the long ball much more.
