What a surprise.

But still, Pudge is now the top of our 1B depth chart?

He was the only option. Morse was used already. So was Stairs.

There it is!  The trade for Burnett was a great move, he's been awesome for us.

That's so sweet after Young made the Nats his nag for 7 innings of dominance. That's just crushing.

Burnett-Storen-Clip best trio of relievers in baseball

No doubt about it. While Gaudin had a good day today, I still want Bally up here over him or Broderick. Kimball/H-Rod after. Once we get them up, that bullpen will be nasty. Then its all up to our offense.

Move Morse down in the lineup or start playing Nix. Bat Ramos behind 4 hole. Ankiel/Espinosa after. Morse after them. Then the pitcher.

If LaRoche is hitting the DL (not sure just guessing) call up CM.

Oh happy day !!!   Just got back from Richmond and listened to the game with Dave and Charlie.   Had 'em on 106.7 to Caroline CO and then picked up ESPN950 in Richmond the rest of the way to VCU.   Comin' back vice versa.   Really nice to hear the game at all with what I'm used to in relation to radio coverage in the past  ... let alone the entire 230 miles.   Plus, we win in extra innings.   Oh happy day  !!!

PS  Odd thing, when I could pick up both signals, 106.7 was about 7 seconds behind ESPN950.

When Balester comes up, they'll be the Barbershop Quartet... razor sharp!

Nice comeback win, it was good to see the Mets fans shut up after booing my man Werth all series. Phillies are headed to town, will Zimmerman be playing? I saw he didn't play today with an ab strain or something.

With a day off tomorrow and reports saying Zimmerman out a couple days, I wouldn't be surprised to see him playing against Blanton.

Zim didn't even hit the field.   Ab strain is what it appears ... aggravated a ST ache.

cbs sports says he should be back by Tuesday.

Now LaRoche worries me, I guess Morse moves to 1B and Nix to LF?

I hope I'm wrong but I see a 60 day DL stint in LaRoche's future.

Atlanta really struggling. Philly doing well, we need to take 2 of 3 from them. First game against Blanton is a must with Halladay and Lee on mound in Game 2+3.

Zimm's and LaRoche's health are very questionable. I might actually have to pull a SF here...the Phillies series looks to be pretty lopsided in their favor.

I hope not. I like that Nix came through today but with these two playing it makes this lineup even more worrisome. I just want a Marrero call up if LaRoche hits the DL. Might as well see a young guy that we considered our future playing everyday. Heck, he had a great ST.

I wouldn't consider Zim's injury questionable. He finished the game yesterday with the injury. If it was anything serious, he would've been out. It was probably soreness that he wants to hael by Tuesday. With Tuesday being a night game, I would imagine he comes back.

Best case scenario we take 2/3 from the Phillies. 1 from Blanton and 1 from Lee the way hes been pitching. I really wish we were facing Blanton and Oswalt though. We've drilled Oswalt since being a Philly.

I was at the Harrisburg game today but it seems like we got a great win.

Anything to note that can't be picked up in the box score?

I honestly think last years team was more talented, but this years team has a lot more heart and that goes along way. I'm starting to enjoy watching them play even though the way they play maybe somewhat boring. Hopefully we come out firing against the Phillies!

i had to listen to the last couple of innings on the radio in my car.

needless to say, i'm happy with the win.  starting pitching was good, relief pitching was great.  very unlikely hero at the plate in pudge.

4-5 after 9 games - with nobody hitting well minus zim it's probably ahead of where we should be.  lots of credit goes to the starting pitching for being better than expected so far.  even gorzelanny pitched well enough yesterday to not earn a loss.

it looked like morse was aobut to bust out of his slump after his hit today but that last strikeout was just brutal.  the pitcher had just walked the previous two guys, i believe, and morse swings at three breaking balls outside the zone.

morse was really good last year and great in spring training.  i'm sure he'll get it going again soon - this team doesn't have the offense to carry all three of werth, laroche, and morse if they're all slumping at the same time.
