True story.

Since Riggs "said" Desmond was done batting 8th, he's done nothing but bat 8th. Pretty sure Ladson misquoted him and won't own up to it.

it's a joke really.  i truly think his numbers would be better if he batted 2nd, 6th or 7th ... but it's still nice to see him have 40 rbis.  Hopefully he has a good August (glove and bat).

I like Bernadina behind willingham though.

Why should he be moved up (though Pudge sucks just as much). If he can't walk in the 8th spot, what makes you think he will take walks in the 2nd spot.

my argument would go something along the line of he'll probably be here next year (or at least somewhere in the orginization), might as well give him a shot

and his numbers are better in other spots.  i'm not making excuses for his medicore numbers ... but it's not out of this world to think his numbers could be better if he was batting in another spot?

Speaking of which, here's Roger Bernadina's stats in July: .217/.224/.326 for the non-saber guys, .236 wOBA, wRAA -3.5, wRC 40. I think he's definitely a long term starter, but he needs to get out of this slump with guys like Morse, Morgan, and Harris hitting well this month.

Not sure if that amateur BlackBerry photographer shows it well enough, but most of the Nationals Park outfielder, especially center field, is in rough shape today. Under the tarp set up for the Dave Matthews Band concert, the grass got good and cooked. So Nyjer Morgan will have a little added degree of difficulty as Stephen Strasburg makes start No. 10.

80 errors. The Nats have 80 errors - leading the Major League. Desmond has made alot of errors. You are not going to have a .500 club making those volume of errors. It is time to last rites this line-up  :rites:   Very disappointed in this team - they are fizzling-out during the last half of this season. I really thought we would have greater improvements this year- but the large volume of errors continue this season.  Very disheartening....  :smh:    That's all I got to say..... :bag:

I'm not so sure Pudge should be batting 7th.

Nationals @ Brewers, Game 2.  I think that's the only game he didn't bat 8th (if he started)

I'll take "B", since Gehrig has a little more pop than Langerhans.

No he doesn't.  It doesn't matter how well Morse hits, nor how badly Bernadina does, Bernie is going to be the everyday right fielder.

At first I thought it was a ruse to DL him. Then when he was eligible to come off the list and didn't I still wasn't sure. I guess you can't fake this one. I think he was signed for only one year and at 34 this maybe it for him.Good luck.

He's got 1 more year of arbitration before reaching free agency. He was having a great season so there was no reason to hold him back. Wonderful K/BB ratio, good clubhouse guy from what I could tell, sucks. I'm pretty sure he will be non-tendered, I agree there.

Ugh I'm agreeing with an assclown. However, scouts buy tickets I think so it means nothing.
