Kasten's a smart guy who's been through this kinda stuff.  It's a good selection to have him on the staff.

I'm never one to give up on games, and I will continue to listen and watch (on gameday) until the end.  But, man, how can we play this bad against Florida?  I mean, I would have liked to be assured that there was at least one team worse than us, but...

Well that's the point.  After about the 100th time I saw it, it's actually sort of grown on me, and everbody here sort of "gets" the joke since no matter where you are, MASN (and by extension MLB TV) plays the same commercials.  It's amusing in the "I can't believe how retarded that commercial is" sort of way.

But if it really bothers you guys that much I can use something else.

He said that Atlanta's success grew in part from having an extensive scouting and farm system that would help find top pitchers.  He was saying if you want to add 10 prospects in the minor league, they have to have somewhere to play.  So you need more minor league teams.   Kasten has great credentials and I'm impressed with everything he said.  He's saying you need solid long term plans to win consistently, and the reason so many franchises don't succeed is they just don't put in the time and do the work that's necessary.  He said he didn't even know who Lerner was when he called in 2003 to ask him to join forces on this.

RBI single for Jose Guillen!

NATS 1

These guys must not like or want their jobs.  Lerner is now going to be watching and losing to the Marlins in RFK?

There is going to be a shortage of pink slips in DC!
