The W.B. Mason ads are some of the worst I've ever seen. Makes me long for the almost-racist "neva neva neva" ads from last year.

W. B. Mason commercials suck along with the umps.

I was being serious in the sense that a lot of people will give Detwiler a pass now no matter what he does in this game.  I'm not sure what else you inferred, but I have nothing against Detwiler.  You may need to give your sense of humor a call-up.  Or just grow a thicker skin.  Your call.

Have you read this forum?  I quit wasting brain power deciphering which posts were serious or not a few weeks after I registered.

Don't flatter yourself.  Lulz.  I'm offended by stupid people, and if you were serious in your post... yeah.

Unless I'm missing one of the countless inside jokes around here regarding Detwiler, you seem like the one emotionally attached to hating the guy enough to be blinded by some ridiculously WRONG(difference between wrong and questionable) calls costing us 4 runs.

He was kidding, relax.  Everything around here is just a constant bout of  :poke:, I'm just catching on now too.

Just curious, but are there any repercussions for umpires who do terrible jobs? I've never heard of an MLB umpire "fired" and it seems the only "punishment" is not doing playoff games.

Does Carp (now I know how he got that nickname) ever STFU about pitch counts?

Minus Votto

Well Votto's count was 1-2.  All that would have happened was going 2-2.  The "mistakes" against us were would have ended the inning if they weren't made.  It's no contest.

I'm sure they do, but does anything ever come out of that, like if an umpire is consistently blowing calls? I'm just curious because I've never heard of anything like that.

Ross gets a free pass for this whole game.

:lmao:  Why couldn't that have been a pitcher SF dislikes. You can bet he wouldn't be singing that same tune.

There was criminal activity going on in this game. Worst I've ever seen

Sf you said blaming umps are for losers.

The umpires union is unanimous in its stance against repercussions, it's an art and humans are imperfect and a bunch of other bullcrap.

That's certainly your prerogative, but I don't think flying off the handle at people whose posts - by your own admission - you don't understand is the best approach.

It's all good.  I always enjoy getting the joe anybody treatment.  It's much better than the "omg the man is holding me back" response.

I would imagine MLB probably keeps such things very hush-hush.

And requiring perfection would greatly cut into the payoffs.

Good point.  Throwing extra pitches to Votto though is playing with fire.  A blown call to him is slightly more valuable than a blown call to a regular player.

Did not know this.  "Good" to know :?

Nah, I am all for Ross discovering his potential, I just think it's funny how badly seem people want to put him on a pedestal over 5 innings (or the always-reliable "good September").  Everything about this team could be a mirage right now for all we know.  I'm just holding back on the unrestrained enthusiasm until we've played a few more games.

They're way too self-important to be bought.
