- CMW should go when Storen returns.
- Espi should be platooned with Lombo, because Espi can't hit RHP and Lombo can't hit LHP. Both play good 2B
- Drop DeRosa. He is useless. Bring up Corey Brown.

Ah...you should live in NYC, where there is more Muts news. Mets are good, but not as good as the Nats.

I knew this game was lost when Wang came in. Time to end the experiment.

Getting close. CMW seemed better toward the end of last season.

Yeah well you aren't getting paid to do that and help win ballgames for your team and be the ace, so I can understand why you would not want to do that. And they didn't show that on the MASN broadcast so idk. All I know is that his body language was poor once again after things didn't go his way and that's something he really needs to fix.

Some people just don't get it. Strasburg is a pet player for some (just like Zimmerman) and people will make excuses for them. Another player would've been ripped for wilting in the heat.

On balance he's been good this year, on balance Zimmerman has been great for this franchise- if the scales start tipping they'll get ripped- look at harper

Zuck says Strasburg received 3 rounds of IV fluids, Davey said he was "white as a sheet."  No laughing matter folks, heat injuries are serious stuff.

Leave it to the National's medical staff to hydrate him after the game.

He needs to learn to take the heat or he won't make it in dc.

I see CMW was terrible again.  I"m not sure how much longer they can hold on to him and play with a less-than-full complement of bullpen guys.  He may be gone soon.  Too bad because we could have used another solid SP when Strasburg hits his innings limit.

But otherwise, looks like the Nats tried to fight back and almost came all the way back.  This team fights and doesn't count itself out.  That's good.  And it's something that past Nats teams have not had.

I looked up Dibble's comments on Strasburg - http://voices.washingtonpost.com/dcsportsbog/2010/08/rob_dibble_to_stephen_strasbur.html

----------
"So for me, a little bit has to be put back on Strasbug here. Ok, you throw a pitch, it bothers your arm, and you immediately call out the manager and the trainer? Suck it up, kid. This is your profession. You chose to be a baseball player. You can't have the cavalry come in and save your butt every time you feel a little stiff shoulder, sore elbow.

"I mean, excuse me. There's guys I played with that had screws holding their elbows together. Chris Sabo played two weeks on a broken ankle. I put a steel plate in my wrist so I could be back in five weeks instead of three months. So, this is your choice. You can either suck it up and be a man at 22 making $2 million a year [with] a $15 million contract, or every time you get an ache and pain you can go out of the game and say I'm gonna let down the other 24 guys right here and possibly end up forfeiting the game."
----------

You can almost imagine Dibble giving Strasburg a pep talk as he's getting IV fluids pumped into his arm - Suck it up, kid.  You're letting your team down right now.  Don't quit just because it's a little hot out!

...meanwhile DC United clean-sheeted the first-year expansion Montreal Impact 3-nil at RFK, where 18,302 (largest home crowd of the season) braved the goshawful heat - to save the day for the local sides.

Now if only the Mystics (as well as of course the Nats) could win this (Sunday) afternoon....

Strasburg should talk to Flores about proper hydration. He managed to play all nine with half his body covered by a mattress and the other half wrapped in hard plastic.
