I happened to buy some delicious roasted nuts and nut mixes at the farmer's market that I'm going to give to my sister in law next Thursday!

I'm a pistachio and cashew man myself.

My brother and I like Almonds.  Cinamon almonds, glazed almonds, whatever.  You might even call us the Almond brothers.

Not a great think to talk about when I'm about to drive about 1000 miles round trip.

Buster Posey wins NL MVP.  He's who I would have voted for.

I would have voted LaRoche because I'm a Homer,  but Posey is the right choice

They have Miguel Montero listed as a Marlin.

They need to fix that before he drinks battery acid

Gio was.robbed.  Of I had to pick a Nat MVP, it would have to be either Desi or LaRoche.

Keith Law and the rest of the stat nerds were pissed after AL MVP announcement.

That made me happy.

While I think Miggy does not win if the old timers had set up a triple crown with either runs as the team counting stat rather than RBI, he had a credible MVP year.  still would go with saving private ryan over shakespeare in love, but I can see the choice.  this isn't snora jones winning over Bruce and the Rising.

It's not that Cabrera was bad. It's just that Trout really was THAT good. Slightly worse offensively combined with much (much) better defensively and on the basepaths and all at a premium position equals a much more valuable player.

There is no legitimate argument for Cabrera winning it over Trout. Even if the Triple Crown didn't include a joke stat Cabrera's numbers would only have won him the award one other time in the past 40 years.

But as I've said before (and I suppose what you were suggesting) there have been much bigger snubs before. BBWA have only been jokes so this shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone.

Factoid from Michael Schur (yeah, the Parks & Rec guy): if Trout had hit three more singles this year, Cabrera would have lost the Triple Crown and Trout would almost certainly have been the MVP.

Cabrera won the MVP because he hit three singles.

I love the fact that people care who won the award. Nobody gives a crap about this in other sports but in baseball it's deadly serious

Trout said something like 47% of the voters would view the triple crown as conclusive, too.  ;)

Obviously, the baseball writers were given gifts to vote for Cabrera.

Mike Trout also is great about giving out interviews and has talked to the stadium attendants about making sure the media have good food spreads at Angels games. Miguel Cabrera, being the adult, doesn't focus on kissing up to the media and wants them to buy their own post game snacks.

If there is something Miggy knows about, it is food and drink.  Trust me on the drink part.
