Adam Eaton (1-1, 6.94 ERA) earned one of Philadelphia's rare wins in his last start, and will take the ball Wednesday. The right-hander, who signed a $24.5 million, three-year contract in the offseason after spending 2006 with the Texas Rangers  , allowed two runs and four hits over seven innings of a 5-2 victory over the Mets one week ago.

Eaton has posted a 4.08 ERA but failed to earn a decision in three career starts versus the Nationals (4-10). He will be opposed by Jason Bergmann (0-1, 3.72), who is still looking for his first win as a starter.

The right-hander has made 46 career appearances, but is 0-2 with a 5.95 ERA in nine starts over three seasons. He pitched well enough to get a win Thursday, allowing just one hit over six scoreless innings while striking out eight, but didn't receive a decision in a 2-0 victory over the Atlanta Braves .
