They pitched to him...but he grounds out up the middle.  Good deal.

Hmm...scenario: 2-1 Nats in the 9th, bring on the Chief...then Barry Bonds steps up to the plate.

Wow looks like I've been missing a tight game.  Sorry fellas, had to change the oil in my car.  So who's going for the save tonight?

Folks, regarding the "die hards" comment at the start of the thread, I usually drop in during the game, but rarely comment.  I just get too antsy listening and usually stomp around the house drinking and muttering under my breath.  So just because me or others don't post, doesn't mean we're not here with the more vocal typists.

My observations thus far:

Livan is VERY sharp.  We need him to be !

There is a lone, very annoying Giants fan who is relentless in shouting "lets go Gi-ants" each half inning.  There was an echoing "let's go ster-oids" chanter as well, more amusing.

Looks like the offense is sitting back, waiting for Guzman to deliver.  Ok, c'mon Christian!!!

Go Nats!

Thank you Skins!

Tricky one. An 1-2-3 inning gives no Bonds, but if somebody gets on...
I still give my vote to Livan, he has pitch a great game.

The $64,000 question.  Will brain-diseased Frank Robinson pitch to Bonds if he DOES come up?

Yeah, Tomterp.  I heard that Giants fan on the car radio during my dinner break.  Probably the only one in the stadium

By the way, I'm a Maryland alum and a big fan.  Not a good start to the football season, though.

Funny about the Giants fan.  I remember during the last Pads game in San Diego there was a guy sitting somewhere near the mic who clapped 4 or 5 times after EVERY SINGLE PITCH by Astacio

I also remember a Mets game at RFK at the beginning of our slump where there was a guy yelling stuff like "AN-DER-SON...  YEAHHHH!!!" and "HEY PIAZZA... TELL YOUR GIRLFRIEND TO STOP CALLING ME!!!"
