oh cool, good for you, you should try to be part of the nats pack or get in with the club some how. even if its an internship or volunteer or something, get as much as you can! i would try contacting masn, see what they can do about getting you in the press box!! i would work it now, that way you're ahead of the game. holding up awesome Z signs are not going to get you a job behind the scenes. start bugging people for a job, even if its PT and you're doing if for free!!

She can start the Ryan Zimmerman Fan Club.  RZ should be making a lot more money from endorsements than his salary, if he really is "the face of the team."  That's one we can keep him here for a long time.  If he has a pile of local endorsement contracts, going to another team isn't going to bring those contracts with him.  The Nationals players don't seem to have agents who are doing much along those lines.

I don't understand why everyone is always jumping on sportsfan for being so apocalyptic. That's his nature. Why can't he just be accepted as is? He's not harming anyone and he does not affect the outcome of the game or the player's performance or lack thereof.

It's been a recurring issue this season...  he hasn't changed any since last season, so I'm not sure why everyone is all of a sudden getting on his case.  Most of us here find his style amusing, but there are a few who take exception to it.  That is their right, of course, but I personally feel the sooner they accept him for the way he is and learn to laugh it off, the sooner we can all get back to business as usual.

Jayman77 hasn't been around much lately so it's understandable that he would be unaware of the situation, no harm done I say.

Just what we didn't need after a 13 inning game, John Patterson to stink up the joint and have to go to the bullpen early.

Unbelievable.. He needs to go on the DL until he gets himself straightened out.  This is just unacceptable from your #1 starter.

i agree 100% i said in a previous post, send him to the minors, let him work out the kinks.
send him to the p-nats, so he can be watched closely. JP needs something and that something is not being in our rotaion, just now.

all the starters have had a bad start, but all the startes have showed improvements, hill and bergmann esp! so its not that we dont love JP, but we want him to be the best. and perhaps he needs to take a step back and reflect on his outtings or something.

Patterson's WHIP in this game (walks and hits per inning) is now 2.75 = horrendous.
44-year-old Moyer (didn't he pitch in relief last night?) has a 1.00 WHIP this game = great and what you want.  Acta has said that Nationals pitchers are walking too many guys.

It's time to get'em. We just need to capitalize on their inability to break the game open last inning and put up a run or two to get back in the mix.

I think being labeled the staff "ace" messed with Patty's head...the burden of unrealistic expectations...which is in stark contrast to the likes of Bergmann, who most everyone expected would suck as a starter, and for whom anything other than dire failure looks pretty good  :?

It's better than fine, good job.  As I mentioned I wasn't even aware that today's game was a day game.  As for gameday moderator 2k6...  I'll give him his lashes when he gets back

Whoops.  When I said I could do all the threads this week, I overlooked this game (can't post at work.)

Yeah, I haven't been around here much, but I'm speaking from a different sort of experience.  Sportsfan does the same exact thing on the Washington Capitals message boards in every game thread, and since the Caps had a bad season, there was a constant stream of negative posts.  And there was no one that I recall who enjoyed reading that time and time again or "laughed it off."

It just gets really old.
