Where is this Wall season ending injury talk coming from?  Everything I have read as of today is saying January (I realize it seems to be pushed back from month to month)

[...]Get real, Ted Leonsis.  Stop lying to yourself and stop lying to whatever fans remain of this team.  It's not a matter of confidence or getting a few breaks here and there.  This team is made up of terrible, terrible basketball players.  That is the problem.

...and as noted earlier, attendance is off - down 7.2% from last season (16,728/fixture to 15,527/fixture)...one would think he would notice that, especially since his Verizon Cemtre cash cows the Capitals are lockout-idled (and likely to remain so for some time yet).

You would think that is the plan, but then they go out and get these guys who are old and expensive and take up salary cap space.  It's like they are working at cross purposes.  They want to suck so they can get good draft picks, but then they go and get guys that might help win an extra couple of games but take up a ton of cap space.  It makes no sense.

There seems to be no plan at all.

The Bobcats have lost 16 straight games and they're STILL 3 games ahead of the Wizards.

That's what I'd like to know too - I've never seen anything from an official source saying he might be done for the year. In fact yesterday he participated in 'dummy drills' and could well be on his way back, although no date has been set: http://www.washingtonwizardsblog.com/2012/12/27/wall-takes-part-in-dummy-drills-seraphin-working-through-struggles/

They beat the Wizards twice.

The Wall stuff is just speculation.  Originally it was supposed to be 8 weeks.  It has stretched way beyond that and only now they are saying 'some time in January.'  We'll see.  Hopefully he's ready and they don't rush him back and risk re-injury.  The Gilbert experience (the knee, not the gun), was not the only time the Wizards medical team screwed up.

At 3-22, what is the point of rushing him back, anyway?  They would be just as well off trying to play Okafor and Ariza (when he comes back from his injury) as much as possible to build some trade value.  If nothing else, maybe they can trade them for expiring contracts (which would put them right back where they were before they traded Shart Lewis for them - also ).  Then lose as much as possible and hire a better GM to make good use of that high draft pick.

This has season has gone hilariously poorly. They have played some of the worst basketball I have ever seen - Jan Vessley, I'm looking at you .  And still, we get the same garbage from Tedstake.com about positivity and continuity and patient development of young players.

With a head shake, I notice Johnson got fired for being 14-14 (after a good start) and the Wiz brain trust is intact.

The Wizards and Mystics are an aggregate 8-52 (.133, 3-23 + 5-29) over their combined most recent seasons.

The Redskins are 9-6 just this season.

The rest of DC is seeing what Caps fans have known for years.  Ted Leonsis is arguable the worst kind of owner:  cheap.

What would it take for my Thunder to get Nene? Kendrick Perkins' contract, Eric Maynor, and prospects Perry Jones III and Jeremy Lamb would work salary wise, with Toronto's first round pick this year and another first rounder thrown in also. Perkins is worthless, but he could be amnestied.

There would be something ironic about a city loosing a team because it refused to bend over in a stadium deal bending over and getting screwed worse (because that's probably what it would take to get a new team)  to attract a new team

This probably works for the Wizards.  How are Perry Jones and Lamb looking?

I'm sure Grunfeld won't do it until Wall comes back though.  He keeps saying he wants to see what the team has when fully healthy.

Temple looks like a great find from the D League.

The bad news is he looked way better than Beal or Crawford and he's been on the team for less than a week.

Wizards lose again....

Is there a "plan" for this team other than interminable losing?

Okafor has been playing pretty well.  He's probably tradable at this point.

But no, I don't think there really is a plan.  Wait for Wall to come back and cross your fingers that he hasn't lost his quickness or hops like Arenas did after his knee issues.

Well,  hope he's lost enough that he isn't in a position to spend next season demanding a trade
