Ugh, I'm glad I was too busy to watch the game tonight.

Ditto.  Wound up giving the kids about an 30-45 min. of storytime before bed tonight.

Looks like the gripe about the Orioles having super slow mo and we not having it reached someone's ears and it got straightened out.

This is an embarrassment to all baseball that's ever been played in Washington.

I agree.. all-time worst loss in Nationals history?  It's definitely in the bottom 5.  I wouldn't be bothered at all if every pitcher we used tonight was sent down or cut (Simontacchi, Speigner, Traber, King, Abreu).

Wow, The Tigers are owning us hardcore. Maybe the failed comeback took a lot out of the guys last night. Thought some may think it may raise you're morale i actually think it might do the opposite. They might think they did all that work for nothing. O well, hopefully we can avoid the sweep tomorrow night.

O ya, anyone hear that Watson was called up?! I like it.

What's with this sissy-fied whining by Sutton and Carpenter about the dude watching his blast travel to the upper deck. He hit it and he should be allowed to admire it if he chooses. He's happy he jacked it so well. All this crap about earning the right to watch it fly out. He earned the right when he hit it. If the pitcher doesn't like it then he should prevent it from happening by making better pitches.

Fortunately, Abreu's days are coming to an end.

Sportsfan, I have a serious question for you.  What if the Nationals' regular starting pitchers come back from injury soon and suck right away?  What then?

I'd like to retract this and say PUSH  :?

Is there still time for me to take the over?   :|

I'd rather have them out there sucking than the likes of Mike Bacsik, Levale Speigner, and Jason Simontacchi.  Hill and Bergmann are great pitchers and I expect that when they return they will be just fine.  We all knew that a staff lead by Chico/Simontacchi and one that included Speigner and Bacsik couldn't work forever.  It is just now starting to come back to haunt the Nats.

Well if there's one good thing, it's that teams that score 10+ runs in a game typically lose the next day.  I forget where I heard that but it's actually a pretty high percentage of the time that that happens.

I guess that explains why they stopped scoring at 9 last night  ;)

You think they'll play that scene from 'Animal House' to get the crowd fired up for the comeback tonight?

I think everyone found out earlier today.  I think it is only fair to give him one final shot to see if he can hit at the ML level.

Why should we be excited that Watson got called up? He was worst currently than Nook is his first two stints here.

We discussed it early on. Whether he contributes remains to be seen.

I found it odd that there was not a post about it. So i just created one about Watts getting called up. Maybe he'll give our offense some electricity!

Perusing over the results of Tigers' games I noticed these guys score 7 or better about 50% of their games.

The good news is that we really can't do any worse tomorrow although the pitching matchup is even more one-sided.  If we win tomorrow (yeah right) then I will somewhat forget these last two embarrassing losses.
