I downloaded Payday: The Heist on PS3. It's a blast to play. You're in a four man team that pulls off robberies. Fantastic game for $20.

Then pay 27% more to get it on the Steam store.  I've actually heard of people often receiving boxed pre-orders the day of (or even the day before) with a lot of recent AAA titles, so you might actually get it sooner by ordering the boxed copy.  Not a sure thing, though.  Either way, this is by far the best Skyrim pre-order deal I've seen.

I have to shoot an interview, go to class and then go to work until 10 pm on Tuesday. 14 hour workday, essentially. Can't play BF3 until late Tuesday night.

Guess I'm pulling an all-nighter.

I have a easy 5pg paper due Wednesday but starting it tonight since I have a test to study for on Wednesday as well. I should have enough free time tonight so hopefully at 12:01 tonight EA/DICE/BF3 allows me to play since I already downloaded it.

okay i've made the executive decision.

i will be getting BOTH BF3 and MW3.  MW3 on xbox360 probably sometime around thanksgiving.  now my dilemma is should i get BF3 on xbox360 or PC.  i haven't been one for video games on the comp since counter strike and team fortress (aside from poker games and what not online).  i've got a pretty decent IBM laptop that runs fairly smoothly, is in solid condition and could hold up a lot of space.  and CMD has it for the PC

but on the other hand i have played the BF3 open beta demo recently on my xb and it was amazing.  i was comfortable with the controls and it seems i'll know enough people getting the game where the multiplayer will still be fun.

First off, see how well your computer can run the game by doing this:

1). Go to www.srtest.com
2). Select Battlefield 3 by either going to the dropdown box or typing it in. Click [Can You Run It?]
2a). You may need to install the srtest file. Download it.
3). The process will take a short bit as it analyzes your computer.
4). I would recommend only getting the game if the meter meets or passes the minimal requirements.

 do that when i get home.  although i already recommended the xb360 as a bday gift idea, so the order could've already been made 8)

True. Either way, we're playing MW3 on xbox when it comes.

BF3 on the 360 is fun imo. Doesn't help my computer can't run BF3 and I hated the battlelog crap for launching the game. I like every map I've played so far, and that's pretty rare in most FPS games now a days. The map Operation Firestorm is awesome.

Back to BF3 I go.

thanks for the positive feedback.   i'm going to test my PC in a couple hours, but i really think i'm not gonna sweat it if i end up just getting it on xb360.

i read one review on some 360 site today saying a lot of gamers weren't thrilled by the open beta test.  i thought it was pretty damn good and it was the first kind of BF i have played (outside of BF1943).

i'm stoked to play.

I'm still facing the dilemma of what system to get Skyrim on.  360/PS3/PC.

My main concerns are:
-How well will my PC play the game.
-How well will the controls work as a PC game.  IE is it a console port.

my test didn't past (not surprising) says my cpu and video card failed, but everything else passed with flying colors.  maybe i'll work on the cpu/vc and see what i can do

need a minimum CPU of 2 GHz DUAL CORE (Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or Athlon X2 2.7 GHz).  don't have it i'm assuming.  as for the video card i'm 150 MB short in ram.  how can i improve on that?

In a laptop, you can't.  How old is it?
