Ms. Houston, our friend who was celebrating his birthday, and I went to a ten-beer tasting on Saturday. The pumpkin ales were at the end and I was honestly a little too far gone to be a good beer critic for those, but the standouts of the ten were Left Coast Voodoo Stout - which did extremely well in a direct taste-off against Old Rasputin - and Austin's own 512 Pecan Porter, which really is one of the best porters in the business and one of my favorite beers. Ms. Houston didn't like Chimay Red, so the birthday boy chugged hers. I am now falling apart laughing at random moments of the day when the thought suddenly pops in my head - "Rory chugged a glass of Chimay!"
