Who would have ever thought that Shawn Hill would have the highest ERA out of all our starters.  :bang:

Who would've thought that our highest ERA would be under 4.50?

And yesterday's glorious winner of the high ERA contest was Jason Bergmann.

Pitiful. Shawn's "sinker" isn't working. He's getting zippy ground balls. Something is not right with him. He never gives up this many HRs.

Queue the Hill beachball pic.  :|

This is what Arizona's offense was doing all of April. Sucks they found it again against us. :?

Feels like it.

It's almost unfair. It's like a college team going up against a ML team.

Because he was jogging over to that ball.

He's not the one who's sinker isn't sinking and can't throw a breaking ball or off-speed pitch.

For every 1 run we are down it is equivalent to being down 5 runs. 5 X 5 = 25. The odds of coming back from being down 25-0 is 100000000000000000000000 to 1.

I'd fall over if I tried to pitch like Haren. I'm guessing he had pretty bad balance and a pitching coach taught him to wind-up like that to help him.

maybe he is "calling a bad game"?

just playing devil's advocate here, since every time a pitcher pitches well, everyone is so quick to credit Flores and Nieves for "calling a good game" before crediting the pitcher for pitching well.

Flores can't control how well/not well Hill is throwing the ball. His sinker has NO downward movement on it. He's leaving the balls up in the zone.  He can't throw his other pitches at all.
