They hit the ball hard to RF in each at bat.

I know what you were saying but I don't buy to that theory entirely. If a hitter like Young gets a pitch he likes then he should swing and it shouldn't matter that it's the first pitch of the at bat.

But if you're thinking "big picture", you're looking fourth and fifth inning, which would likely be considerably easier if he had a higher pitch count, plus you'd get the same pitches to hit, that inning.

It's all pluses and no minuses.

Excellent to see.

OT, A-Rod's hot streak has been eclipsed by all the football action this weekend.

So you're saying let the first pitch go by even if it's right down the middle for a strike and fall behind in the count in the at bat in order to drive up his pitch count :?

That's worth the gamble considering that there is one out already.

Olsen doesn't have that much control and even if he could summon it up, he'd serve up another one just like it, a few pitches later, or he'd walk you.

This strategy, btw, is very contingent upon who's pitching.

Felipe disgusts me.. He is the most unclutch player in baseball.  What a disastrous inning though

i dont want to say this, but i think felipe needs to be replaced. he just can't hit. and his d doesnt exactly make up for it.
hopefully guzman can play next year and belliard can play 2B..

Yes. Interesting to say the least.  I'm happy because he is on my fantasy team!
