Ironically, the pool closed on Monday and it's probably the hottest it's been all year. Whatever, this summer was awesome.

Has anyone queried as to why it's 91 degrees in Washington DC on September 5th?

It was only 83 in Oakton at game time.

Was that Eastern or Western Oakton?

Drank 6 water bottles during 33 mile bike ride this afternoon...easily the hottest ride of the year, even late in the day.

It was hot here in OBX on the golf course.  But there's always a breeze to help temper the effects of the heat.

Golf buddy and I were talking about the minimal breeze conditions here (NoVa) yesterday

  Western.   Twas 85 in Eastern Oakton.  It's had bad climate ever since Appalachian Outfitters closed and they built a bank on all 4 corners there at Hunter Mill/123.

My son decided a couple months ago it was time to move onward and upward at work so he applied for a new position...in Denver :smh: He works for a major hotel chain, he could've gone anywhere, idiot!! He's been having fun texting me the temps this past week, it was -13 when he left work the other night   I had warned him over and over how miserable it can be living in snow and cold..then I ordered him snow boots for overnight delivery, stupid FL/TX boy bought a snowboard already but no snow boots

He ain't no dummy and he got a free pair of boots.    Denver is close to a lot of good skiing and boarding.    Plus, out there, he won't have to listen to that FSU bullsh**.     :)    He can move to San Diego later.

Just watched an interview on CNN with the Niagara  women's b'ball team stuck on I90.    They've been there 20 hours.

I live in Buffalo, NY - this is just nuts. Up to about 6 feet of snow in some areas. Points of the day where wind gusts are up to 30,35, even 50 MPH. I had tickets to the Bills game - that isn't happening anymore. Sabres game is cancelled Friday, (would be happy to just give the rangers 2 points - McDavid here we come!!)

Anyways, fatality total is up to 10 so far. Scary stuff. But Buffalo is not called the city of good neighbors for nothing, and we've displayed that this week.

Just sitting back, got my Great Lakes brew, I'm good. Warm, safe, occasionally playing in the snow.

That is an unbelievable amount of snow and more on its way sounds like?  We complain down here about a few inches.  Sounds like warmer and rain which means flooding I suppose,

Good luck and hang in there

Another 2 to 3 feet are estimated in some parts, yes. Some buildings have had their roofs collapse, which is scary. If any of you have twitter, I suggest hopping on and looking at some of the photos. Lake Effect Snow truly is fascinating.

Why do we need twitter?  We have WNFF, and a foreign correspondent on the ground in Buffalo right now.  All we need is for him to start posting some shots...

Hang tough LMQ and Buffalo   ....  My Aunt and Uncle lived in Amherst (may have mentioned it before) and I spent a lot of time at the Inferno in Williamsville during the late summer of 1967.

I saw a post on reddit from a guy that got grief for calling out of work.  Pic outside his house was snowmageddon.  Pic at his work had a dusting.  Another pic and you could see almost no snow on the ground and in the distance what appeared to be a white cliff face where the snow line was.
