I'm hoping for 42+ wins this season.

I think Harrington was a great addition. We needed a 4 who could shoot.

Nice synopsis of the teams in SI this week.    They're seein' the Wiz 7th in the East behind 1) Miami 2) Chicago 3) Brooklyn 4) Indiana 5) New York  and 6) Atlanta.     I'm gonna hold onto that for awhile.    That is a nice step up from where we've been.

I was really looking forward for the season to begin for the Wizards. But so far its already off to a shaky start :( Okafor might be out for a long time and he was imo a key player because he does everything Nene does not do. I thought if both Nene and Okafor stayed healthy with Wall we have a great shot at making the playoffs. But injuries are already starting to creep up on us. But on the upside im really looking forward to seeing how good this Wall/Beal backcourt could become. If they start to build something maybe in 2016 Kevin Durant sees whats going on here and decides to come back home.

Forget what I said about Okafor.. seems that were are about to trade for Marcin Gortat whos a great 7 foot giant. So yes halfsmokes if Wall doesnt pull an Arenas playoffs it is!!!

The protected first round pick makes it a pretty even trade, but it's still a good one for the Wizards. Shannon Brown is a fun player to watch. Gortat's a solid center.

A bit of a panic move but hard to say not knowing how long Okafor will be out.  Gortat is not as good as he was 3 years ago and I believe Wiz will have to release all 3 other players since they already have 15 signed.

Should help us into the playoffs this year and that was why Ernie did it--save his job.

My first in person game is Dec 2 and looking forward to it

Have fun.  My first games are on December 2 and 9.  And then will see the Miami game in January.

I'll be there tonight (beginning 10th season as STH) - those 25oz cans of Bud available at some of the concessions (just $11 each) may come in handy if Wall and Beal keep rushing their shots like they did Wednesday.

Tonight's opponent is the Sixers, from whom not much is expected this season (SI has picked them for dead last in the East) - even so, they did upset the Miami Heat earlier this week....

It was not far from my section (I'm in 418), in one of the concessions along that part of the corridor (may have been Papa John's). The cans are easily seen behind the counter. This was during the second of the pre-season matches last month - new for this season.

This team is almost unbelievably terrible. Going to lose 50 games easily.

The defense is so bad. Making bums like Spencer Hawes look competent. They have no presence in the middle. Gortat is soft as butter. He doesn't protect the basket well at all.

Beal looks really clueless offensively. No confidence in his shot, poor passing.

Wall had some terrible turnovers late, Beal was absolute crap, Gortat let people in the paint like a turnstile, we're freaked.

...and only 17,160 announced attendance for the home opener (=upwards of 3,000 unsold tickets - that's UNSOLD, not STH no-shows - and it looked it)...better crank up those 25oz Buds mates (also available at Monumental Brews in the northwest 400 concourse)...it's going to be another loooonnnng season.

Coach Wittman now $20k lighter in the wallet following dodgy language in his post-Philly presser: http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/9927394/washington-wizards-coach-randy-wittman-fined-20k-profane-language

,,,the way the team collapsed in the fourth quarter, I think my language probably wouldn't be all that polite either.

Damn, what happened to Maynor's shot? He had a nice shot when he was in college. Totally different stroke now.
