I went to a motorcycle show a few years ago where they were raffling off one of these:

Inline 4 cylinder, air cooled. I have to believe that the #4 cylinder seized before you got to the end of the block.

Amazing that you put that many miles on a bike, that is a ton of riding not to mention awesome durability. They sure don't make em like that anymore. And Indian 4's are pretty cool although I prefer the earlier scouts

My great grandpa was leaving a bar up in Northern Indiana one night when he took a "wrong turn" and drove his Indian off a dock into Lake Michigan, where it stills sits to this day.

The Scouts were flathead 45's?

Not sure what years or models exactly but a lot of the older scouts were as well as the chiefs also.

I don't know much about Indians. The Harley 45's were tanks. They used to dominate the hill climbs (I don't know if they even run those anymore).

I had a 2001 Z/24 Cavalier and had a similar issue with the windows. My driver side window would stick when it was down. I'd have to hit the switch back and forth a couple times and then it would work.

Now I have my baby: 2006 Dodge Charger R/T.

The wife has a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer Ext w/5.3ltr V8. It's absolutely loaded.

 :old:

jk it's where you spin the drive tires on a car and create white smoke. Also called "peeling out", it's stupid because it tears up your car and ruins your tires.

Ah, I see.  Reminds me of that video Steinberg posted on the Bog of the passed-out Phillies fan in the driver's seat of his car with the engine on and his foot pressing the gas to the floor.

Someone mistook Tony Larussa for a Phillies fan?

I'm thinking of the '10 Chevy Malibu.  The 4 cylinder engine gives me pause, but I think Chevy or Subaru or Mazda are the three companies I'm willing to go with right now.

The '10 Ford Focus is a surprisingly great car - I just rented one a few weeks ago.

Are you looking a midsize then?

I think the 2010 Focus looks like barf, but the 2012 one looks great.

It was the new one that everyone likes, at least I think so. It was a gas miser, so I appreciated that. But yeah, a midsize is safer than a compact I think, and everyone loves the Malibu.

Plus there's a theme song:

For MIDSIZE the Ford Fusion Hybrid has gotten rave reviews.  There's also a flex fuel one as I understand it.

Hybrid

Flex fuel :spaz:

Ethanol is not the answer in my opinion, but the oil companies love the idea, as does Big Agriculture.

I have yet to meet a Mazda 6 owner who ins't gushing like a school girl about how dreamy their Mazda 6 is on a regular, unprompted schedule.

They're good cars.  The Fusion is too, both it and the 6 are based on the same platform.

2010 Focus

2012 Focus

They don't look radically different to me, though I like the 2012 one a bit better.

I think he is talking about the 2010 US Focus, unless he has made a trip to Europe.

2010 US Focus:

Oh, that makes a lot more sense.  For decades we get the crappiest looking cars while the Europeans get the good ones.  FINALLY Ford is waking up to that.

I know the 2010 Focus is a big seller, has many attributes, but it's got econobox written all over its looks.

The interior is even worse, with an ugly, cheap looking swath of gray plastic.

Thankfully, the next US Focus will be the same car as the next Euro Focus.

I wish Ford would make something I want.  I'd buy that Euro Focus if it was well made and handled like my BMW 323i.  I'm up to 155k and thinking ahead to when I get to 200k miles and replacement time.
