Nasty stuff from Garcia. Too bad Davey nodded off in the dugout again.
He didn't nod off...he never even showed up...

It's a final: Reds 4, Pirates 3.

Reds get 96th win, pulling even with Nats...Pirates get 82nd loss, clinching 20th consecutive losing season.

As far as best record goes, Nats play last three against the Phillies at home.  Cincy plays the Cards in St. Louis and considering how hard the Cards have played us, I think the Nats have a good shot at best record.

I'm worried about winning the division.

Using a hockey term, the Cardinals three stars of the game:

1. Carlos Beltran
2. Wang
3. Davey Johnson.

The Pirates will have nothing left to play for against Atlanta...

As well you should be with the lack of good decision making that's come out of our dugout in the past week.

Settle down Francis.  Nats only need one win.  I trust Lannan over Kendrick right now.  If that doesn't work, Gio probably pitches Tuesday so there is that.

That's why I looked up the opposing pitchers:

- Lannan / Kendrick
- Gio / ??
- Jackson / Lee

Unbelievable.  Is Kozma even any good?

He was their first round pick in 2007.

The Cards will likely shut it down as soon as the Dodgers are eliminated from Wild Card contention...

Looking round the MLB box-scores, it seems we aren't alone today...Indians ripped the Royals for 10 runs in the fifth inning of their 15-3 home win. Misery loves company.

The Nats are playing badly and have the Phils, who are still playing hard. The Braves are on fire and have the DOA Pirates. The division isn't a lock. Gio could take a dump on the mound like any ace does once in awhile.

Yes. This is going to be a struggle.

If we don't win the Division...Rizzo ought to take Davey up on his pre-season bargain...

It's a shame that these players have to be subjected to this sort of mis-management.

I'm ready to call this one, and win it in DC.

Who's going to tomorrow's game?

Maybe MLB has this set up like pro wrestling. Nats win it at home so the fans can celebrate. Teddy wins a race. Davey looks like the old genius.

At least I hope that's what's planned.

So...Zimmerman does his best imitation of Ken McMullen. (But doesn't get the out)
