Shortstops with no power don't dominate anybody.  Only pitchers can dominate a game because they're the only ones with that opportunity.

Frankly, I'm surprised there wasn't a play at the plate on Simmons' sac fly.  Harper's arm is that much stronger than Werth's?

Simmons has speed, plays gold glove defense, and can really hit with a little pop to boot. Very valuable player.

It's the truth. Great player and he has a penchant for dominating us.

A penchant for domination?

I'd rather face Reed Johnson with a chance to get out of the inning unscathed than to pitch to Simmons to possibly get out of the inning unscathed.

??????

You just offered a scenario in which both sides of the equation are equal.

At least my theory allows the Nats to face Medlen to lead off an inning.

Besides, you asked why and I answered your question.  You wouldn't do what Davey did.  Bully for you.  He's a baseball manager and you aren't.

Leadoff hit, Ross is not long for this game.

No easy innings for him. Keeps putting leadoff guy on base.

Braves made right call benching Bourn tonight. He is really overrated. Has been striking out like crazy whenever  I see him play lately

Question- if two teams tie for first place in a division, how do they chose who gets the wild card and who gets the seeded spot? Records against each other?

(Not suggesting the Nats will get in that position, just curious)

In western PA, there was chip chop ham at Isalys.   Never thought it would result in this misery.

Det did a mostly fine job. Offense can't score vs Medlen but we already knew this.

We gotta win Sunday and at least take 1 game of this series and we'll be fine.
