Has anyone heard of a SPH event on Saturday, August 2nd?

Season Plan Holder Appreciation Day

Please join us on August 2 as the Washington Nationals celebrate Season Plan
Holder Appreciation Day! The day is highlighted by an exclusive opportunity to
interact with players on the field at Nationals Park.

Gates open at 2:30 p.m. and the event will end at 5:00 p.m. Starting at 2:30
p.m. you will be able to proceed to the warning track where you can meet,
interact, and take pictures with your favorite players!

Season Plan Holder Appreciation Day will also feature a live question and answer
session with special guests on the Miller Lite Scoreboard Walk.

Season Plan Holders will receive one event pass for every seat in their package.
Event passes for full and half Season Plan Holders will be uploaded to their
Ultimate Ballpark Access cards and will be available for transfer via e-mail
from their online accounts. All partial plan holders will receive event passes
in the mail within the next 3-5 days.

Please Note:
• August 2 game tickets are not required to attend Season Plan Holder
Appreciation Day.
• Parking lots and garages will only be available for fans with a valid parking
pass to the 7:05 p.m. game vs the Philadelphia Phillies

We hope to see you on this special day. Go Nats!

Sincerely,
Washington Nationals Season Ticket Sales and Service Department

Missus and I attended the Red Bull Blutag.

It was pretty interesting.  We left when it started raining...I think it was about time to change and get ready to head to Nat's Park anyway...

So is the SPH event a good place to get autographs? Is it usually just the C list guys you get to meet? Worth the time?

Only a few players come out and few people get to even meet them.  This was 2012...

Desi, Suzuki and someone else just walked around the warning track and basically ignored everyone.

Gio took pictures with some people, but all in all, it was a total bust...

Missus says that's when we left as well.    We took the shuttle bus back to Alexandria and headed home.

My dad went to high school with billy joel's brother.  He told me he used to always say, "My brother is a burnout and all he does all day is sit around and play piano.."

I'd rather go meet Ted Dibiase

Getting autographs at this event gets harder every year. It's different every year but I would go in with low expectations re autographs.

I am new to this site and trying to use my smart phone which isn't working. I am wanting to come up to another Nats game and was thinking of taking the metro. I am coming from Staunton, Va. Can anybody tell me where I can catch it coming from I-81 northbound? Any info will be greatly appreciated. I am bring my daughter and thought this may be easier? Thanks in advance. GO NATS!

I-81 North to I 66 East and then pick up the Orange line at Vienna. You'll have to change to the Green Line at l'Enfant Plaza

There may be other options, here's the link to the metro map http://www.wmata.com/rail/maps/map.cfm

If ya like to walk, you can take the Orange all the way to Capitol South and walk to the Park.    Lots of folks do it so you wouldn't be alone.    Save the hassle of transferring at L'Enfant Plaza.   Guess it depends on how old your daughter is.    If she's young, it could be a long walk for her.    If it's a weekend game, parking is free at Metro lots.

Gonna tailgate (drink beer and eat snacks, no grill) Sunday at Lot W. Any idea what time that lot opens?

Just FYI, if that lot is getting dull, drive down South Cap past the Park, turn right before you go over the bridge, make your first left, then park in the lot to the right at the next intersection. There's a small cadre of folks tailgating there (no grills) whenever we park there. That's the southwest corner of of Half Street SW and R Street SW. It's a quiet lot that, so far, has only ever been three quarters full.

This has been driving me nuts for like half the season.  Does anyone know the reason the guy at the end of the screen on the visitor's side holds up different color square sheet of plastic several times each inning?
