Can anyone (paging NFA Brian), give me a scouting report or tell me if he is a legitimate prospect or he is someone in the mold of Stammen?
I'd imagine he'd get the promotion after the Carolina League All-Star game. Let him enjoy that moment.
As for a projection ... he appears to be a #3 or 4 starter moving forward. His stuff is solid. FB in the low-90s with sink. Slider is his breaking pitch. Heard mixed things about his change-up. He's a big guy (6'6") who has drawn comparisons in the past to Derek Lowe. He'll be 24 in September and it will be interesting to see how he handles Double-A if/when he gets there.
