Then again, maybe you're right and the Yanks will go after him.

That's down the road a ways so no need to fret over that just yet. Besides, Zimmerman still has to prove himself over time.
i understand what your saying, im just wondering what this team is going to have players like that want to stay on this team.  its too bad that to compete in baseball you must spend money but it is a fact.  i understand that we are rebuilding and are working on the farm system but I do think we need to spend a little to keep fans happy and in the seats along with the fact that more guys will want to play for a decent team

Well, sorry for my lack of presence in the thread, the game was on, and I was just watching the game away from my computer.

See, this is the kind of game that I can get used to on a regular basis.  At least we had a hope of winning the game until the late innings, unlike being down 5-0 in the second.

I think that's next year. When the stadium opens, there'll be a few new, experienced players.

That's what has to happen starting in the offseason. Don't worry about that stuff now. That's wayyy down the road in terms of who wants to stay here.

I'd prefer to get used to games where we actually score runs, and dare I say it even have the lead for an inning or two.

Kasten has said that he will spend money on FA the offseason before the new ballpark.  Works for me.

When the pitchers don't have good reputations, they are really not getting any calls. So much for the expanding zone on the 3-2 count. Timmons can go eat a donut.

I couldn't agree more with this statement. I believe it's possible to "rebuild" the farm system while at the same time spend a little as a stopgap to at least be competitive and give us something to feel good about.

That last missed call was horrible. To plagarize sportsfan882... this redneck Tim Timmons need to go F***ING kill himself IMMEDIATELY!

I remain a skeptic about this. It remains to be seen if he will make good on that and I hope I'm wrong and he is true to his word. My fear is that new stadiums are normally guaranteed to draw well and that may be used as a way to rake in the dollars without having to field a competitive team that costs money while continuing to say that the future is bright.
