Ballpark bus to Nationals Park

I love this concept and it seems like the guys putting it together know what they're doing.

If you're in suburbs, will you use it?

It's a good idea but it does nothing for me.  If they're not offering anything to people outside the vortex why even bother?  If I was going to drive that far I might as well just do the rest myself.  People further south on 95 need something like this.

Personally, I don't live near my work, but if I did, I think I'd use this.

For what its worth, it also seems like a great excuse to organize a work party.

I can see it succeeding. Some fans drive to a Metro station and go to the game. So why not just drive to a bus station? More comfortable and easier to get out. And if Metro keep raising fares....

I think it's a great idea, and would use it a handful of times per year.  It's of no use to me on weeknights - I drive from work to the Park and then back home to Fairfax - but on weekends sounds like a nice alternative.

i couldn't imagine using it, we drive in and park at the yards, it takes us about 45 minutes and costs $25.  For four people it's hard to top that.

I work 3 stops from the park but a Bus from Centreville or Manassas would be great on a weekend!

I would take a bus from the Tyson's area if the price and timing are right.

Fair Oaks Mall would be ideal for me but Tysons would be an acceptable plan B.

Good for you. My dream is to someday live within walking distance of the park. How far are you and what 'hood you in?

They announced their first station. The Green Turtle in Reston.

Makes perfect sense. Big sports bar way outside the Beltway. Meet for dinner/drinks, hop on the bus....

See http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ballpark-Bus-to-Nationals-Park/226556244085397

EDIT: The Turtle is in Dulles Town Center

I didn't even know there was a Green Turtle in Reston.

EDIT:  Upon further review, there ISN'T a Green Turtle in Reston.  It's in a place called "Dulles", looks to be between Herndon and Sterling.

I was also confused about the Green Turtle thing.

I wasn't aware Dulles was an actual area now.

Upon yet further review, the Greene Turtle site shows the address as Sterling, different zip code than the Dulles Town Center site shows.  So maybe they recently got a change to a new zip.  Or maybe they just don't want to be part of Sterling.

I know they closed down a restaurant at Dulles Town Center so maybe this took it's place.  On the weekends it only takes like 45 minutes to go from Northern Virginia to the stadium.  What is the price per person for this thing?

I don't think they've announced prices, schedules or other details. The operation does comes across as, uh, not highly funded. They don't even have a website so far. But I will support them if they leave from my neck of the woods (Tysons/McLean) for the right price.
