If you made a roster of all guys last-named C
« Topic Start: March 09, 2011, 04:32:26 PM »
Pretty sure Marquis de Sade gave me this idea in the fantasy baseball thread.

Here's my 25-man roster of C-men:

SP Chris Carpenter         C Hank Conger
SP Matt Cain                1B Miguel Cabrera
SP Johnny Cueto           2B Robinson Cano
SP Brett Cecil               SS Starlin Castro
SP Fausto Carmona       3B Jorge Cantu
                                 LF Nelson Cruz
RP Aroldis Chapman       CF Carl Crawford
RP Tyler Clippard           RF Shin-Soo Choo
RP Matt Capps              BN Francisco Cervelli
RP Phil Coke                 BN Asdrubal Cabrera
RP Juan Cruz                BN Alberto Callaspo
RP Jesse Crain              BN Chris Coghlan
CL Francisco Cordero     BN Tyler Colvin

Pretty sure that's a playoff-caliber lineup and World Series-caliber bullpen and bench (needs a power PH though - although Colvin is projected for 20 HRs). The starting rotation is at least above average.

--

The "second team" includes:
C Kevin Cash
1B Jeff Clement
2B Alexi Casilla
SS Orlando Cabrera
3B Brooks Conrad
LF Ryan Church
CF Coco Crisp
RF Michael Cuddyer [or first-team DH]

SP Trevor Cahill, Kevin Correia, Aaron Cook, Matt Chico, Bruce Chen
RP Randy Choate, Todd Coffey, Joba Chamberlain, Jose Contreras, Jesse Chavez

Bonus outfield:
OF Chris Carter
OF Melky Cabrera
OF Mike Cameron

Awesome!  You should put Coco Crisp on the starting team though.

How do you leave Canseco off that list?

What else is there to do London? What about coming up with the list of players who most resemble someone from England.

That may be so, but...

What would Barney Stinson say?

What else is there to do London?

Well, tomorrow I'm going on a day trip to a small town called Lewes, population 16,000, to do this:
- see Thomas Paine's old house
- grab brunch at a legendary place called Bill's Produce
- see ye olde streets/castle
- hike through 15 kilometers of South Downs countryside, including a ridge with a view of the English Channel
- reward myself with a snazzy Italian lamb shank dinner
- go back to London
- catch a concert
- grab a 4th meal of Belgian waffle with ice cream on top

Alas, no time for 3 syllable MLB team rosters. You can do it though! I know you can!

Yes, all Brits have bad teeth, all Americans are fat, and all Asian people are good at math.

Yes, all Brits have bad teeth, all Americans are fat, and all Asian people are good at math.

The % of Brits with bad teeth is only slightly lower than the % of Americans who are fat.

On the other hand, the % of Brits who are fat is tiny. Like, it's probably about the same as the % of Americans who have never been to a McDonald's.

This, plus their extremely weird ideas about fashion, makes British women, to borrow prospect terminology, a draft class with a pretty uniformly high level of potential but in most cases a fairly low ceiling. There are few Zimmermans, but even fewer D'Angelo Jimenezes.
