Yeah, but you got to wizz outside, which is very satisfying. Very.

When I was a youngster, my grandparents had "outdoor plumbing".    When I went to visit them, I didn't go to the can for a week.   Nothing like shoveling your way to take care of business in the winter.  :)

BTW  the chamber pot didn't work for me either.   :P

Nah, the vultures are too smart.  They'll be hanging near a watering hole  looking for carrion left by predators.  I'm thinking Houston will be surrounded by army ants and desert spiders.

euro continues to show another major winter storm striking the NE on March 6-7th, probably rain for the D.C. area again though.

So, by that map, Southside is pinko territory.

Actually, that is a pretty good map of red and blue virginia.

Is this a clipper that takes a dive off the carolina coast, intensifies, then comes up to bomb New England?  It looks like VA gets hit worst before it intensifies below 1000 millibars

no, this seems to be more of nor'easter type storm, bombing over VA.

I take that back, from what I read last night this is a really unusual kind of storm, it's coming out of an arctic blast heading straight down from canada, combining with warm air over virginia.

Strange.  They aren't talking about much of anything here in Upstate NY and they're calling for 50*+ for temps on Saturday the 9th.

depends on whether it goes out to sea after it forms off the coast.

That map for 3/7 looks like DC dodges the worst.  did they shift the map north?

models continuing to show broad agreement of a major winter storm hitting Virginia on the 6th-7th, only question is how far north the snow goes.  Some models are showing the snow more Southwest, others more north.  So the D.C. area could get somewhere between 4-12" depending on track.  Western/SW could get 12" or more.  Richmond also 4-12" depending on track.

Went for my run this morning around 10 in Loudoun.   Flurries here at that time.

When you are talking about 12" do you mean max if all snow, or do you mean likely snow?  Most of the local weather guys have a lot less.

the most recent models say 12" or more of snow in western VA in the Shenandoah, with lesser amounts as you move east.  D.C. looks like it is in the 4-6" range.  GFS is still focusing the storm around Richmond, but most folks I read still don't trust it.  Here's the Euro:
